The flavour of the beef soup has gotten weaker. If you like a discernable beef flavour in your soup, then avoid this place. I felt like I was eating a bowl of boiled beef water rather than a simmered beef stock. At least the Spring rolls are still alright.
The service of the male waiter (maybe he is the boss) was very attentive. I can see there are lots of loyal customers here (mostly of them are western people) they are all familiar to the menu. The food is tasty. The spring roll is hot & fresh. It is a good place to enjoy a quick unch especially in cold and rainy days.
Best spring rolls in Vancouver. Pho is average but their rice dishes are outstanding. Standard service. One of my favourite Vietnamese spots.
Bao Chau is located on East Hastings Street between Renfrew Street and Nanaimo Street. It is one of the famous Vietnamese Noodle Restaurants at Hastings-Sunrise area. Our favourites are their beef noodles soup, hot spicy round noodles soup and Steamed Rice with BBQ Pork Chop, Shredded Pork, Pork Hash and Ham.This place is well known to Vietnamese and local foodies.
Had lunch. Beefball noodle was good and a side of spring rolls. Eerything was served hot and fast. Spring rolls were a bit oily, but good none the less.
One of the best in town. Always busy around dinner time. Consistently good broth. Generous portions. Ratings and number of positive reviews are true. Shame they only accept cash.
Got the spicy noodle soup with pork hock, ice rainbows beam dessert drink, combo A( BBQ chicken rice and salad roll. More than enough for two people. For the noodle, size and amount of topping is good. Combo A is a bit not up to expected taste, but still okay. The best part is the dessert and the owner( the only guy in the store who take the money … Guess he is the boss). The dessert drink can almost be a meal for a light eater as the beans are very filling. As a (kind of) sweet tooth , I love the drink a lot. … A lot. And I have already decide my next meal here is this drink and spring roll. The owner is good in how he is react when he aware a guy is leaving the store without paying. He just kindly remind the customer without getting him embarrass. And when I accidentally stuck 3 twenties together and thought there were only two and left the restaurant, the owner chase me and give me back the extra. The other waitress are very nice too. Give them a try when you are around.
