Great little boutique restaurant. Very casual and fun. Music was a little loud for the small space. Service was good and the food was really good. Huge portions. Had the picanna and the beef was well done. Exactly how we requested. The desert – chocolate cake (prestigio) was amazing.

At best I would say this restaurant was underwhelming. We had a groupon so could sample appetizers, main dishes and desserts. I have prepared Brazilian food in the past with a homestay student from there and enjoyed it a lot. However, this wasn’t the case at Boteco. The two appetizers we tried were deep fried; one was fish and one was chicken but they both simply tasted like fried bread. Of our two main dishes, the meat was overcooked and tough while the prawns were overly sweet. Even the salad wasn’t tasty. The beans were also flavourless. It was busy, so others seemed to appreciate their food, but I can’t think of a reason return.
Been there twice for live music performances. Food was good and the atmosphere tops. A real fun time in congenial unpretentious surroundings. !!
What a dump. Went there for my birthday as my sister had been there a couple of weeks prior. I wasn’t sure after reading some of the reviews but trusted her judgement on the appies. Yes, they were good, but isn’t everything when it’s deep fried? The place is old and not kept up. The bathroom had no soap, no draft beer as it wasn’t working and they ran out of a beer my dad and I were drinking. (Bottle) My dad enjoyed the band that was playing but I certainly wouldn’t go back or recommend eating there. Sorry, invest some money in cleaning it up and having things work, then maybe….
Lazy service, awful drinks. In spite of lazy service, there is only one option of draft beer, and a couple options of bottled beers. They should update the menu changing both ‘Caipirinha’ and ‘Caipiroska’ to ‘Lime Juice’.To make matters worse, there is a ‘only cash’ police, which is not clear until you get to the counter.
About the restaurant. They don’t respect their customers
