Unpretentious eatery on Victoria Drive with an extensive menu and fantastic food. Service is slow but well worth the wait. Be prepared for large portions.
We were in the area and wanted Mexican food so we stopped at El Caracol Cafe for a quick bite. We ordered the chicken tamales to start, the salmon tacos and a beef burrito for our mains. The tamales were excellent! We will come back just for those. Wow. The tacos were average, the salmon was actually quite dry. The burrito was amazing, big portion and it comes with rice and beans. We also ordered the horchata to drink, it was too sweet for our liking. Tip: If you love hot sauces, El Caracol makes their own homemade chilli and it is actually spicy but super delicious!Service is slow but you can’t beat the prices ($3 for tamales and $9 for the burrito plate), and the quality of food is great. We will be back and we would definitely recommend El Caracol if you’re looking for good authentic Mexican cuisine.
Came here a couple of times. First time, We ordered the pupusas, beef tacos and tamarind drink. Overall I really like my pupusas and enjoyed the tacos. But they don’t have a lot of varieties of tacos like Sal y Limon and I like the unique taste of tacos at Sal Y Limon better. The tacos are above average and the drink is unique. The second time we came there, we ordered carne asada and chicken burrito. They’re not bad. Customer service was friendly first time but quite bitchy the second time we were there. I would have go back there if not for the rude customer service but I’ll stick with Sal y Limon.
I have wanted to check out this brightly-coloured fun and festive-looking little place forever! I finally went and got a chicken tamale and enchiladas. Delicious! Tamale was only $3 which is crazy-cheap and the enchilada was $9.99 and delicious. Our servers were great, the place is small but a totally fun hangout. The Horchata was so delicious, I can not wait to go back for more. Great deal for the money and I will be all the time. So glad I finally went inside. ~ Suzie the Foodie suziethefoodie.com
worst service, with bad attitude like if youre going to eat for free, ordered a Tilapia and it was burnt and salty not fried as it was supposed to be on top they didnt give me a discount nor gave me another one, was good not anymore
We got a burrito and a whole fish. Service was sloowwwwww; apparently, the money in their till didnt add up, hence the reason why they took 20min to take our order. I dont know why they couldnt have taken our order and dealt with their cash count while our order was getting prepared. Anyway, the food was good, so will give them another try.Update: Revisited and the service was quick! And the food once again was delicious!
