Pretty small joint compared to other hot pot places I have been to. There was 9 of us so it was expected that we would get enough food to feed all of us..ESPECIALLY because it is all you can eat. Nope..none of our orders came out right. We asked for 24 pcs of shrimp for 2 rounds and they only gave us 10. Some orders didn’t even come. To top it off, they were down to the clock to kick us out within the 2 hour limit. They started to serve us dessert while we were still on our second round and then gave us the bill. HOW RUDE!! This was 8 pm already and there were 2 large tables available so not like they were needing our table. Also on weekends they charge an extra $1 per person. Never coming back to such bad service. I wasn’t even full. Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond is way better with more variety.
It’s a All you can eat hot pot, but when we order 18 shrimps for 4 of us to share on the 1st round they only give us 6 shrimps . Ok fine , on the 2nd round we order 12pcs, they still give us 6 pcs! Hmmmmm…….next time I will try to order 38 shrimps, wondering how many they will give to me. Lol
I’m not sure why alot of people like coming here to eat. The positives about this place is that it’s air conditioned, clean, fresh items, plenty of space to eat. But the downside for me is the broths…I came here a few times now and have tried the broths. They don’t infuse into the food… I find I’m constantly using condiments to flavor my boiled items… Vietnamese and thai hot pots have way more flavor in their broths, they cling to the food. Much more tastier… And the prices here are high. No flavor in broths and high prices don’t sit well with me.
I came here last night with 3 hungry guys. I’d always wanted to try this place since we love hot pot, and we always go to Little Sheep. We made resos for 7pm and sure enough we were seated right away. Placed an order of the half spicy & Chinese medicine soups, lots of meats and seafood. Overall, it was good and fresh, but if it wasn’t for the prawns included in the AYCE menu, we probably wouldn’t come here again. We found Little Sheep to be tastier honestly.
I decided to come here as a change from my usual, little sheep mongolian. Both have their own pros, but this place surely didnt disappoint. I was having a late dinner so it was nice that they have late hours almost every day! All the food was great and the service was decent, overall i would definitely come back.
went here on a weekend night, was a little bit excited to make it in here, and the place was quite empty by 6pm if i’m not mistaken but it gets super busy towards the night, and as usual some of my friends are late. not surprised about it. So as for the food, we went with the peanuts satay and ribs broth. the satay is okay, the ribs is somewhat better but nothing really memorable. and tried pretty much for a lot of items, most of them are actually okay, but at the same time nothing really memorable. overall the experience is alright, and remember there’s a strict 2 hour time limit for eating! so overall definitely alright but nothing memorable and with the price… hmmmm was wondering why is all hotpot more expensive in vancouver. mangkr.wordpress.com
Like many others have mentioned, service is terrible, you have been warned! Prices are fair for all you can eat and the food is decent, but this place is average at best. If you do not like tongue numbing peppercorns, do not order the Fatty Cow Hot & Spicy soup base! Both of us really enjoy hot pot, but yet to have found a spot in Vancouver that we love. The search continues…
