Their waffles are good and their drinks are yummy. I have returned 2 or 3 times. One thing I cant get over is how dirty the place is. For this reason I wont return. I can have similar things in a cleaner environment.

I had the cappuccino waffle shake. Yum, yum, yum! I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Just the right amount of sweetness. The service was quick and friendly.
I first heard about Off The Grid Waffles in the article Best Waffles in Vancouver by Vancity Buzz and I wanted to try one of their milkshakes that comes with a waffle wedge. It was under $10 and I ordered the cappuccino milkshake, my favourite flavour. The restaurant is not very large but it is almost all completely white which I love. I still have no idea why people were playing Jenga, totally set me on edge while I waited for my milkshake to hear the tiles fall all over the table and then onto the floor. Not exactly relaxing. When the milkshake came it was thing of beauty with Pocky and biscuits… So many treats I had to turn the mason jar around to find the stunning waffle wedge. Holy crap, that waffle was delicious! I am serious. I was totally impressed. It was super crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It made my knees weak. Damn! That really is one of the best waffles I have ever had.Sadly I was less enthusiastic about the milkshake. It was too subtle. I know cappuccinos are supposed to be creamy but they are supposed to be coffee-y too! It bored me so I did not finish it.Screw it. Next time I am going for the savoury waffles. These foodies know what they are doing when it comes to food. And on a hot day? I am going to try one of their new waffle cups. suziethefoodie.com
We came here around 4 and 5pm. Non busy hours. Perfect timing. We didn’t like to wait for tables or eat in a jam pack area. We ordered a waffle matcha latte. Great presentation and great beverage. Waffle tasted fluffy and filling. We loved them. It was about $6 plus tax. The food and drinks here are better than bubble tea. The ambiance is good for dates or friends to get together. Service was only so so. The cashier took our order and passed our order to the staff in the kitchen. No greeting or any special service. We grabbed a table and the staff cleaned the table for us before we sat down. We wish the staff there would be more friendly. We would like to go back and try other dishes or beverages.
I’m the type that would have this stuff on a rainy day and trek an hour to satisfy my stomach. The matcha milkshake was alright, but something I would order all the time, but I really did like the smores waffles and I will definitely come back if I was craving waffles. Nice how this place is in East Van, we need more of these places here.
