Really good for a veg dim sum alternative! Overall lacked a little of the greasy richness youd find at more traditional Chinese spots but flavor was good and still kills the craving for dumplings.
I don’t give 5’s often but this is Po Kong. Bean Curd Skin Rolls, nuff said. Their lineage is vast, stemming from the notorious Bo Kong on Main St. Their food hasn’t changed in decades, Always good and always consistent. Thanks for carrying on the tradition. Vegan Chinese food is the best.
July 24, 2016First time having Vegetarian Dimsum and it wasn’t that bad. We were a little hesitant to try since we our all meat lovers, but hey gotta try something new sometimes.Fungus Dumpling – This one was definitely my favourite. Similar to the shrimp dumpling (har gow), but this one is filled with white fungus. Simply delicious.Sweet & Sour Pineapple Delight – What’s missing in this title is that there is tofu in this dish which replaces the pork. According to the waitress this is one of the most popular dishes. I thought it was delicious. However, I did miss the pork a little bit!Sticky Rice – Also delicious. Lots of filling in this sticky rice compared to other dimsum restaurants.Service – There this this one guy who served our table. Top Notch! At all times he made sure every table had food and were satisfied. He definitely thinks outside the box. The other waiters/waitresses need to learn from him! We felt taken care of during our entire dine-in.
Had a great experience here! As someone who has been going to dim sum my whole life, I wasn’t expecting much since all options are vegetarian. But to my surprise, the food was delicious! Sure, some items were not quite as flavourful as if they were real meat, but they were still delicious. As well, the service was very attentive and polite. Would consider even bringing my non vegetarian friends here.
The best Chinese Vegetarian Restaurant I’m Vancouver in my opinion. This place was packed, and I know in Buddhist religions there are certain days of the month that a family will reframe from eating meat, therefore they would often go to a vegetarian restaurant, but I went today and according to a reliable source today wasn’t even one of those special days and there was a line out the door. My family even made reservations and we still had to wait thirty minutes for the table. The dimsum here is also very delicious if you’re vegetarian, obviously you won’t be seeing the typical sui mai and haw gai dishes, but they make quite good substitutes for their protein. I also like the dinner menu, their crpes and monkey head speciality dish is something I would recommend if you come here for dinner. But be warned its a popular restaurant for dinner.
Came here for a vegetarian dim sum. I love the veggie bbq bun but its a bit too small comparing from the last time I came here. spring rolls and radish cake are good. The sticky rice covered by banana leaf were yummy. The price has increase, especially the menu and the set.
One of the best Chinese vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver!! It’s so good you don’t even know you are eating vegetarian. Our favorite is the baked cheese rice, fried milk balls and imitation beef. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to eat Chinese style vegetarian food.
