We made reservations for 530pm and we are glad we did as by the end of our meal around 630pm it was lined up outside. I wasn’t expecting too much but to my surprise it had wok-hai which to Chinese means flavour-ful. We ordered 4 dishes off the huge set menu section, which they gave you a free 1lbs lobster. We added e-mein with the cream sauce for the lobster.. Plus we added the clams with black bean sauce, extra spicy. I loved the lobster the best very flavourful again, with lots of onion in the sauce. A bit more garlic would been perfect. The hotpot was good but the b.b.q pork in it could of been freshier but all restaurant are like that. Using up the pork. The free range chicken was okay as marinaded too long so texture off. You got the ginger green onion oil sauces. Lots of places don’t give you both. The star was the Beijeng Porkchop, pork chops huge, marinaded perfectly, and we couldn’t finish it all. The green bean with pork was good and not oily. I don’t eat clams but my uncle loves them and he said it was good.. Service was quick and they changed plates. Maybe being Chinese , you don’t hear about bad service, our we are use to it, like my dad says a Chinese restaurant is just like that.They were friendly and didn’t mind our request for 3 side dishes of hot sauce. Bill came up to 95.00 and we got tapioca soup which was bland but we were too full to care. The food came out in a nice order, I hate when orders are too slow and you are waiting, as it breaks the momentum. I’d go back order the lobster and pork chop, we will try the crispy skin chicken next time.
I’ve been to Sandy La a few times. Sometimes you get service, sometimes it’s like please open your eyes. Even after you ask them, they forget, and forget and you get livid. I just wanted tea or water or to order more food. Is that so hard? Seems like it. I feel you get better service when the place is packed busy than half dead. Food Is a hit or miss. Sometimes a Cook makes your food and sometimes it’s a Chef. Yes, there is a difference. Good place for late night when hung over or to get hung over. Order deep fried pork chops if you want to eat half fat pork chops. You have been warned. That brown meat on the plate, it’s a piece of uncooked meat.

No show delivery. Placed an order for delivery and was told it would take 45 minutes. I called back after it was one hour late only to have someone try and take my order again. After explaining I had already ordered I was told that the driver had already delivered the order. I told them not to worry and went for Vietnamese instead.
No service. Bad services, under-staffed. waved at server, and responded, i didnt want to WATCH her and make her come take my order, but it turns out you have to wave and give dirty look and watch them come here, you cant give them any face…. or they just respond you and forget about you
Big portions. Have dinner and takeout from here offer. Service is hit and miss depending how busy they are. Food has always been very tasty and huge portions. Never had. Bad experience here. Prices are cheap too.
