The food is okay but not delicious. Its often luke warm at best because of their storage practices. The spicing isnt very flavourful. I want to like this place because their store has some unique products but I wouldnt go back to the restaurant after two mediocre experiences.

Do not eat here or buy groceries from here! I am a 28 year old local who frequents the drive for dinner with my 4 year old daughter, and have found some serious health hazards at the sweet cherubim! Just a few things noticed: They use Windex to clean their glass food bins. Windex guys really? WTF!?! Why is a supposedly health conscious cafe using a toxic chemical cleaner on their food bins of all places, especially when there are healthy non toxic options sold right in their own store?? And if this isn’t bad enough, on 3 occasions I watched them spray the Windex liberally all over the glass, (both inside and out) while all the food was still sitting right inside the glass bin! This is not food safe guys!!!!! That’s poison!!!! One time I came in with my daughter to get some water and we had to turn around and leave because the place smelled so bad of bleach. Bleach guys?!?? Yet another toxic product they were using with all the food still exposed without any concern for food safety. And the smell was so strong it made both me and my daughter feel nauseous in less then a minute. How could the employees stand this i thought? On another occasion I came in to get a napkin. While observing some of their pastries, I noticed an employee place a chemical cleaner and Windex bottle on the food preparation table while food was being prepared. It did not seem to matter that the spray nozzles were hanging directly over the food. I watched as the bottles kept being banged, just waiting for the drips to come squirting out to make a nice chemical sauce added to the food. No consideration taken for food safety yet again! I could not watch any more and I hope whoever ate that food is alright.I leave the next one up to you to decide: A local newspaper opened and unfolded, placed directly on top of the lettuce that was cut for salads. At the same time it was covering over the tops of the open trays on the food preparation table which are used to hold some of the other toppings put on salads. Do you guys working at Cherubim not realize these newspapers are full of toxic chemical inks, dies, and quite often are thrown all over the place including the floor? Madness guys!!! I’m also curious why this place considers Windex a safe option to use to clean the surfaces of their juicer, and blender. Now I did not see them use it on the areas where food goes, just the machine parts that hold the buttons and what not but still… why put toxic chemicals anywhere near something that handles food? You are not cleaning guys, you are contaminating!A couple times I was thirsty and went to the back of the store to the beverage coolers. I had to put the beverages back because they always smell like some kind of detergent and after seeing what I have seen at this place I am just not willing to take the chance. Lastly, I went in with a friend who wanted a snack. He picked up a veggie burger and some cookies. He ended up throwing them both out as the veggie burger had some kind of chemical smell on the aluminum wrapper, mixed with some kind of perfume smell most likely from the staff, and the cookies were really stale. Shame on the people who run this place. I will be calling the health department as I feel a responsibility to save others from contamination from eating at this place. I strongly encourage anyone else who have noticed things like this, or have experienced food poisoning from eating here to please make a post and also please call the health department.
