The place is small and very basic but the food is so great that it does not matter. The portions are big and it is great to share a couple of dishes with another person. You can always take home what you can not finish. I usually do

This is our favourite Indian place in Vancouver. They have the best naan, and great curries. The only drawback is that most of their curries have alot of oil. The service is also really good and they’re great with making dishes without allergens, such as dairy. My favourite dish from this place is their prawn marsala. You get a lot of prawns and the sauce is really good with their naan. Their eggplant is also super delicious. Just be careful if you get takeout, their naan goes bad fast and isn’t very good if you don’t eat it super fresh.

Considering the handful of reviews this place has received, and considering that I hadn’t heard of this place until only very recently, it seems like Tandoori Palace is one of Vancouver’s best kept secrets. In its price bracket, it’s either one of the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the city, or comes very close to it!It doesn’t look like much from the outside OR the inside, with space that might just be enough for 15 people, but the food is really good!I went to Tandoori Palace with 2 other friends yesterday night, and between us, we ordered seekh kebab, chicken tikka, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Each dish came to about $11, and included rice or naan. We decided to get one with rice, and 3 with naan. Now the chicken tikka is kind of overly red, and passable, and the seekh kebab, though pretty good, doesn’t stand out on its own, but the chicken tikka masala (ordered on recommendation by the owner) and the butter chicken are the real winners. They were clearly the best I’d had in a long time. The butter chicken was just the right mix of creamy and tomatoey – it’s a pet peeve of mine that most Vancouver restaurants get this wrong. And then, there was the naan – their naans are hot, huge, and amazingly soft and fluffy, without the chewy texture that you get at many places. When it comes to your table fresh out of the oven (tandoor), you could have just the plain naan for dinner. We really enjoyed our dinner. The staff is quite friendly, and chatty and it was the owner who recommended the chicken tikka masala to us. By the way, one dish is more than enough for one person. We ordered 4, and had quite a bit leftover to take home.Pro Tip #1: They serve halal meat, if that’s a concern for anyone.Pro Tip #2: They give you the option of rice or naan. Always go for the naan!

Good place for takeout. I had the chicken tikka. The meal was delicious and we’ll prices at 11 bucks. Really tasty sauce, delicious chutnees, nice naan and yummy moist tandoori. Very little atmosphere and ridiculously hot in the restaurant. Also service was fairly bla. Food was good though and good for take out!

Don’t eat here. There are much better restaurants.. This restaurant doesn’t even deserve even deserve one star. The customer service is horrendous–and that is one of my biggest pet peeves, because, really, they should know that there’s plenty of other restaurants where I could be spending my money. Don’t bother trying to order delivery because 2/3 of the times that I tried, the order didn’t go through. When I called after waiting around, they took no responsibility for the mistake and just passed the phone around between three people, each asking me the same questions. When I finally managed to place my order and asked them to give me a discount for the inconvenience, they refused. Absolutely rubbish restaurant.

Excellent butter chicken.. I really enjoyed their butter chicken. Excellent flavor and a good portion size. The naan was also very good. My wife had the chicken tikka and she also really enjoyed her meal. We’ll be back soon.
