I have been here several times. This place is owned by the same guy who owns the yard, the fringe, and the ouisi bistro. They had live music last night and it was great. I never knew they had a patio in the back either! I decided to drink from the top shelf last night. It’s 5:45pm and I’m just getting started with my day. Had a great time.
Came here on November 10 to try something new. Initially I was impressed by the cool atmosphere, but that soon went downhill. It took the server a little while to come by with menus, but we assumed that he was busy (seems like there was only one person working).Beer choice is good; have lots of local craft beers (I got the Parallel 49 Ugly Sweater). We were really excited about the menu (they have Falconetti’s sausages!) and were going to order something…but the bartender never came by to take our order, nor did he tell us that you have to order at the bar (if you do). Do I really have to ask? Really disappointed.

Love The Brighton! The woman who runs the bar (Mariko?) is just so lovely, and a perfect host. Cozy, and much-needed and appreciated new hangout in the neighbourhood! Love it! (ps the baked olives are a MUST)
It Has Potential. This place has potential. Service wasn’t great, but it was quite full and it appeared that they only had 2 servers working, so I’ll overlook how long it took to get my drink. The food is definitely sourced from the neighbourhood, which I like. Nothing fancy on the menu – sandwiches, nachos, sausages, etc. I had a sausage on a bun and it came with a side of nachos (but no salsa). It was pretty tasty. My wife had the chicken sandwich and said it was good, not great. That also came with nachos, but she got salsa with hers. Decent tap list (has some local craft beer) and their bottle list is extensive but nothing that you can’t get in other places. If management happens to read this, please note that serving beer in chilled glasses can taint the flavor of the beer. Not all beer needs to be served ice-cold.I’ll probably go back, but not any time soon.
