Poor delivery service. Ordered a take out order, it took nearly two hrs to arrive, and I had to phone them to ask where it was, have used this restaurant a few times, but no more, very very bad service. M V
Worst Service/Food Ever. Have to say most disappointed I have ever been in a restaurant before. Service was terrible, I get it some people have bad days. We all do, I work in the service industry as well, but you don’t have to act so rude to customers. Im not asking you to be my friend, just deliver my food in a respectful manner. When we did finally get our food after a very long wait, I can say it was not worth it at all. Maybe the chef was having a bad day to who knows but the food wasn’t very cold, cheese was barely melted and I didn’t realize we were rationing toppings for the apocalypse. I have been here before and this was the first time it was like this. Before it was always sub par so needless to say, I will not be eating no-melted cheese 5 piece pepperoni pizzas again.
Fantastic service, horrid food. Must preface this with the fact that we didn’t order any pizza. We had the steak and lasagna, seafood fettuccine Alfredo, and moussaka. Everything was horribly under seasoned. The steak was well done when I asked for medium rare. Everything was so bland to the point where we used every seasoning available and had to ask for parmesan, chili flakes, and hp sauce (I hate hp). We felt bad for asking for so much because the service was great and our server was very accommodating. This is the worst Italian food I’ve ever had though.24 Sep, 2014Fantastic service, horrid food.. Must preface this with the fact that we didn’t order any pizza. Bizarre and Disrespectful Service at Trocadero. My partner and I decided to try out Trocadero Pizza and Steak House earlier this week as there had been some good food reviews and we were looking for dinner in the neighbourhood. A sunny, weeknight dinner. We initially enter the restaurant, and we see the manager at the counter doing paperwork strewn across the workplace (restaurant tabs/bills/etc.), we make eye contact and we let him know ‘for two’. He replies, ‘Wait a moment’. So we are just standing there looking at some of the things at the wall, no problem. From the wall divider you can actually see part of the restaurant and I can see the waiter is taking his time talking to a full table. I also notice that the restaurant is pretty empty, maybe 3-4 dining parties. After more than a few minutes, the manager at the counter asks us to seat ourselves (and I see the waiter is still talking to the same table). We chose to sit right in the middle of the restaurant. It is a bright, sunny evening, and we sit under the skylight and our table has a lot of prominent natural light. There is only the one waiter. A few minutes pass, and the waiter has been servicing the other tables. We thought it a bit odd that he has not at least come by to give us some menus and water. Not even a hello. But we give it a chance. The waiter then goes to the bar getting wine or something, and helping the one man at the bar. Then going to the computer screen to input some information. The menus are nearby to the computer screen/bar, so I assumed he would be coming by soon with the menus. The waiter is back on the floor but this time serving food from the kitchen to another table. After he serves them, he walks back towards the bar but I tried to give him eye contact and I feel like we did lock eyes for a moment though he never seemed to walk near our table for some reason. At this time, an elderly Asian man walks in and seats himself near us. I assume the manager from the front had asked him to have a seat as well. The waiter is still going back and forth helping the other tables, the one man at the bar, and fiddling with the restaurant computer near the bar. He’s the only one waiting tables at the moment, but he has not yet acknowledged us nor the elderly Asian man (about a grandfather’s age) and he has also now been here for a while. It’s getting a bit ridiculous. We do want to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt as we had initially been excited to try it out, but we’re pretty close to leaving as it’s been 10-15 minutes and no service. At this point, the waiter brings in an older Caucasian family to a table nearby. He must have actually had a free moment near the front to bring them in. As they were sitting, I noticed he was carrying menus and water. I thought, ‘Finally! He’ll come by with menus and water for our table and the Asian gentleman at the other table as he has a moment’.But no, instead of showing them to their table and then swinging by to ours to give our menus. He is actually being jovial and friendly to the older family (they may have been repeat customers?) and gave them the menus and water. At this point, I realized the service was bad not because they were understaffed but rather there was some sort of preferential treatment to different customers. After giving them many chances and the benefit of the doubt, we got up to leave as this had become irrevocably unacceptable behaviour. As we were walking out of the restaurant, the waiter was near the foyer and after we walked past him – he hesitated and said, ‘Thank you’. The kitchen is also near the entrance and it is somewhat open, the chef saw us walking out and yelled, ‘Sorry’. The manager, I think was still doing his paperwork near the entrance. No response. In conclusion, I will NEVER go to this establishment again and will tell everyone I know not to spend their money here. This looked like a family-run business and I love supporting local business, but they have lost yet another two customers due to a lack of minimum customer service. 15+ minutes without so much as an acknowledgement from the waiter to at least let us know that he will be with us as soon as he can, and then serving customers who just came in before guests who were already seated! UNACCEPTABLE.
Food wasn’t great, service made it worse!. I’d planned a night out with my daughters and a girlfriend that I haven’t seen in months. When we got there, we ordered fairly quickly. I ordered a large appetizer platter and the special (a roasted lamb) and my girlfriend ordered the calamari dinner. We waited, and waited, and waited. For over an hour past our order time, we waited for the appies. My five year old couldn’t stand it any longer and started crying because she was hungry. So we asked where our appies were. The server told us he’d check. He didn’t bother coming back for almost another 15 minutes. In the mean time, I went up to the counter and asked where our dinner was as we had a play to get to (two hours after our reservation time) and we were going to be late. That’s when I was told that our server had screwed up and not bothered to notate that the platter ordered was for the appies so it’d all be coming at the same time.We ended up getting our food to go and our server was so incredibly rude. No apologies, nothing. My daughter was in absolute tears by the time the food arrived and she’s one of the best kids in restaurants since we’ve been eating out since she was an infant and I’ve always gotten complimented on how well-behaved my children are. The fact that there were no apologies, not a single smidgen of remorse for inconveniencing us, nothing, plus the food was mediocre at best means I will never be darkening this doorway ever again unless someone else is paying for it.
Second best pizza I’ve ever had, good pasta and the roast lamb dinner aside from the rice is also very good. Will go again .. And again.
Well worth it for the lamb shoulder. Went there a few times to use up my Groupons. The lamb shoulder here is surprisingly good. They also have it on special quite regularly so excellent value when combined with a Groupon. Haven’t tried a lot of other dishes here so can’t really comment on the quality of their other offerings. The lamb was large, well cooked, tasty & falling-off-the-bone tender. Everything you expect from a Greek lamb shoulder entree.
