This pub is so awesome! The food is fantastic and we always have the excellence service there. In the summer, nothing beats sitting on the patio, having a couple of beer or cocktails and having an appy or two. Incredible views of Kal Lake. Can’t wait to return!!
The worst food and staff. Ordered the Thumbleweed turkey burger and it was inedible. I actually thought the bread was moldy, I checked because that’s what it tasted like. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was just ok at best. It took forever to get our food. I asked the server when we would be getting it and she told me the restaurant was busy so it takes longer. Ummmmmm so you aren’t staffed to operate at full capacity and that’s just ok for customers to wait 40 min for a drink?!? I told the server the food was just ok and she laughed and walked away, I told her I was serious but I don’t think they care they must realize the food sucks. My advice, hit Original Joes’s 5 minuets down the street its 1000x better.
Totally desapointed. The location is wonderful, you can look at the beach from the outdoor terrace. Unfortunately, the food is terrible and the service is bad. We’ve tried the place several times but no change, we will not be back
From one server to another… Take note ladies.. Came here with friends over the long weekend, one day for lunch and the next evening for drinks. When we came in for lunch mid-afternoon on Saturday our server was incredibly rude, barely greeted us, and seemed irritated at the simplest request for a glass of water. Our drinks took forever to arrive, and our food even longer. The following night we came back for drinks after dinner. It wasn’t very busy, but for some reason we were ignored by four different servers who passed us by on the patio. Finally our server arrived – at least she was friendly – and we got our drinks. We decided to order appys (only two!), expecting them to arrive within a decent time frame considering it was 10 p.m. But no. 45 minutes later the table who had arrived and ordered long after us had their food and ours was nowhere to be seen. We got it to-go, and it was an average snack at best. I have worked in a restaurant as a server for two years, and I have to say that this place needs a service overhaul. Servers or someone on staff should guests upon entering a restaurant and at least acknowledge them when they’re waiting 10 minutes for a menu. And food, especially appys, should never take that long. This place would BLOW if it was anywhere else – the location is the only thing it has going for it.
Long wait, poor quality and crappy service.. We keep giving it a try and once a year for the past 3 years, it is always a disappointment. Long wait for meals – definitely not worth the wait. Are the staff trained? Doesn’t appear so. They may look good but doubt they have ever experienced top-quality service. The location is a great draw, only to be disappointed again and again.Time for an overhaul!!
Was VERY disappointed with last visit. Terrible service and the food took over and hour to arrive. Asked for water twice before getting it when the food arrived. Unfortunately the food was not worth the wait
Awful. Worst ever entre salad I’ve received in any restaurant anywhere; essentially a badly wilted, clumped heap of spinach topped with a generic, over thick, cream style dressing. The price was on par with the same thing at a Cactus Club or Earls type restaurant but 5% of the quality. The service, however, was even worse. Crankiness and laziness seems to abound.
