The Blue Ox is one of my favourites. When i’m craving a greasy burger the Blue Ox burger with fries and a pint of 1516 always hits the spot! Honestly though, best time to go is on the weekend. And wednesday night wing night! Get friendly with the chef and find out their schedule. It can be hit and miss but when its good it is good! Welcoming local business. Service is always good, so remember to tip! 😉
Great food and friendly service!. My wife and I went to the Blue Ox for a dinner out. We had fabulous service and good food. This is a great place and the only downside was a loud argument that took place between two of the customers, which the staff was apologetic for. I love the Blue Ox and will go back again in a heartbeat.

We’re visiting family in Kelowna & stopped in for lunch while out for a drive. We each ordered something different & all three of our meals were fantastic. Everything was just super. I’m so glad we stopped!
Seriously bad. We are locals, as in we live in Vernon. I had recently been at a do where the catered food was phenomenal, and when we asked, were informed that it had been prepared by the chef from the Blue Ox pub in Lumby. That sparked my desire for more of this good food so decided to take my sister there for her birthday lunch. Big mistake. I ordered a blue ox burger, without the bacon, and with a veggie patty( as I am vegetarian)with yam fries on the side. When it came, the bun was straight from the fridge COLD, the veggie patty was slimy and fairly tasteless, and the fries were soggy and undercooked. So disappointing. I returned the fries and got a mediocre salad with brown edged lettuce in its place. Then the bill came, and I had been charged for a veggie burger with cheese and mushrooms which was a full 2 bucks more that a blue ox burger sans bacon with veggie patty. My companions’ meals were acceptable allegedly, although how can you ruin a quesadilla. My husbands fries were equally bad as mine but he is too polite to speak up. So disappointing. Never ever ever ever ever coming back.
Blue Ox is WiFi, great food.. It was shown as 5 Star ratings without any reviews posted as yet.The chef is quite capable of pushing to a real 5 star, given time and encouragement.Yes, I think this is the best pub food in the valley. Very enjoyable menu, reasonably priced.WiFi for travellers too. Nice to find in small town BC.There is a band playing most Friday nights, good music, far from loud. Very, very good food, especially when the head chef is on shift.I suspect he keeps a few secret ingredients even from his second shift chefs.Not your typical pub menu. A scattering of the basic essentials are there for sure.But DO NOT MISS some of the better items on the menu.The Thai Soup is a starter you will thoroughly enjoy.
