I had a delicious dinner there last night. I had one of their burgers which was juicy and flavorful. It came with bacon and cheese as well as guacamole (which wasn’t anything to write home about but the flavorful burger itself easily made up for that). My side was a Caesar salad which was very good, maybe it had a few too many croutons, but the Parmesan cheese and capers made it very authentic. My Gin martini was well done, I usually ask for a lemon twist rather than the classic olives and they complied with my request. Everyone else seemed satisfied with their meals. The lobster mac & cheese lacked a little lobster but it looked tasty none the less. We had so ordered a few steaks and I e of them was not cooked to the requested medium rare. The waitress promptly returned it to the kitchen and reappeared with it shortly, cooked to perfection. I would be happy to try this place again!
Please… eat here!. Far and away the nicest meal we had in Vernon, from the Vodka Lox to the Lobster Mac and Cheese I very much enjoyed my meal and so did everyone else at the table. Nicely decorated and cozy, though in a decent hotel its location isn’t perfect and I suspect this restaurant would do better downtown or near more foot traffic. Still, it is one of the best restaurants in Vernon; the food was intelligently and artistically plated, portions good and prices not bad at all. Make the trip and try it.
Try everything on the menu because you can’t go wrong!. I have been to Bourbon Street a few times now and have always had not only amazing food, but enjoyed an amazing establishment. Even the simplest dishes like a burger and sweet potato fries end up being an amazing fusion of flavours! The beef in my burger was not only cooked to perfection and amazingly juicy, but also clearly extremely high quality. It was loaded with nice crunchy onions, avocado, and served with sweet potato fries that were perfectly crunchy and flavoured. I greatly appreciate that you can taste that everything they use is of the highest quality, fresh, from scratch, and to the extent that it can be, locally sourced. The service is always fantastic and I love how the servers are very well versed on the menu items and what everything contains and where it comes from. My boyfriend and I also enjoyed their Oktoberfest special this past fall that was one of the best fusions of local produce and authentic cuisine we have ever had. He being born and raised in Germany appreciated the beautifully cooked (and massive) pork knuckle with the fantastic mustard, combined with amazingly fresh and local root veggies. Bourbon Street is definitely one of Vernon’s best kept secrets and it is clear that everyone from the chefs to the servers put a lot of expertise and love into making every dining experience there an amazing one!
Lovely Dinner. I’ve been to the Bourbon Street Bar and Grill at least six times now, and each time was fantastic! The food always tastes great, it is presented wonderfully, and the service is so friendly. The Louisiana prawns are the right spicy (a perfect kick) and cooked just right. I had a steak tonight, and it was grilled exactly as I asked and so mouthwatering and the knife cut through it like butter. The seasonal veggies were so tasty – tender, perfect, not overcooked – and the yams and squash were awesome and flavourful. I was full after my meal, with just the right amount of room for dessert. Dark chocolate mousse truffles and turtle cheese cake! Heaven!
Highly recommend. I’ve been to Bourbon St. Bar and Grill on many occasions and I have to say every time has been a great expirience.The food in particular was not only cooked to perfection, it was also beautifully presented.Since I eat out probably more than I should, it’s great to have a restaurant to go to that serves quality food at a fair price!
Love this place! We have always enjoyed any menu item we have tried. I also appreciate the support Bourbon St provides non-profits in our community. Last summer they helped local community gardens promote the benefits of eating local, organic produce with great success. It’s awesome to see a business that takes the time to invest in their community!
Worst food we have had in over a year. I don’t understand how there are good reviews for this place (other than the live music is great). I ordered a $28 lamb shank and it was so bad that I thought I would take it home because maybe I was having an off night. Well I think the neighbour’s dog liked it. My husband’s ribs were overly sweet and we didn’t feel so well after having dinner there. It felt like really heavily processed and pre-cooked food. Our boys had mac and cheese which was considerably better than the menu items twice the price. I have never been more disappointed by an eating establishment. I think it is just to serve the people staying at the hotel (maybe for a beer) and everyone else should stay away!
