Disappointed. I went into the Earls in Vernon on May 14, 2014. It was game 7 of the Boston/Montreal hockey series and I asked the lady who seated me if she could put on the game with volume. She said they were not allowed to turn up the volume. I spoke with another patron and he said they told him the same thing the night before so he was only going to have 1 drink and head home to watch the game so he could hear it. I was in the lounge area of the restaurant and I spoke with the bartender and he told me it was policy and would not blame me to leave and go somewhere else as he would love to turn the game up also. There is about $8000 dollars worth of TV’s in the lounge area but they can’t turn the volume up for a game 7…..really? This is Canada c’mon. It was a joke with all the other hockey fans in the lounge area. In fact the bartender told me the sound system in the lounge area was separate from the restaurant area which just adds fuel to the fire. I frequent the Earls in Chilliwack and they have no issue with turning up the volume of the TV’s in the lounge area. If you are a sports fan don’t go here!
Great Service, Great food, Friendly staff. We were seated fast, we were looked after quickly, we got our drinks quickly, we got our food quickly, and the service was always with a smile.I think it’s a great place, Try the smoked barbeque back ribs… slow cooked. You wont be disappointed 🙂
Service blunder. I really don’t think I’ve seen service so hit or miss anywhere. Rather they are friendly and quick or so bad we get half our meal comped
Not good. Every time I’ve eaten at the Vernon Earls restaurant, it has not been satisfactory. There is always something wrong with the food. One time I went, my salad smelt horrible and tasted bad, and looked like it was just poured out of a bag. I’ve never had a great meal at the Vernon Earls. Other Earls in other cities, yes, but not Vernon’s.
Excellent service and food. The new menu items at Earls were great new additions, and the couple I have tried were amazing (thai carrot soup and pumpkin pie). They have a great appie menu, and the atmosphere is very elegant! The staff were very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu/drinks. I would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a great night out!
Not Great. Our service was awesome, drinks were great, food unfortunately was very disapointing. Little to no flavour in anything had to put salt on and I just about never put salt on my food. Very over cooked as well. I have always enjoyed their food in the past, maybe they have a new chef?
Amazing service but the food was hit and miss – some things were awesome (spinach artichoke dip) and others were gross (chicken sandwich).
