Food was delicious. Ordered the confit duck tortellini main course and it was absolutely flavourful. Their Caesar salad was okay. J had the lavender roasted duck and he loved it down to the last bit. For dessert we had cheesecake and the presentation was dramatic. Too bad I didnt take a photo. The dessert was a wipeout. Service was excellent. Unobtrusive yet attentive.
I had heard from friends that the dining here was disappointing considering that it was at Sparkling Hill and so expensive, but that was not my experience at all. My wife and I went on a gift certificate to cover the $150 three-course meal for the two of us, and we were both very pleased by the experience. The service and the ambience were nice, although it did seem a bit odd that the tables were set up so close together with so much empty space in the restaurant when we got there at 8:45 PM.However, the thing that I was mostly concerned about, and ended up being very impressed by, was the food. My starter was the Roasted Butternut Squash Harvest Salad, and it was fantastic, loaded with very nice flavour. My main was the Beef Tenderloin with Blue Cheese Crust, and a caramelized red onion and potato tarte, along with market vegetables. Everything on the plate was delicious, and I keep wondering how these upper scale restaurants make their vegetables so incredibly flavourful. Both my wife and I were stuffed, so we took our desserts up to our hotel room, but my apple sticky toffee pudding was good as well.Maybe they have been making some changes in recent months to improve over what other people have called bland food? I don’t go to $40-$50 per dish restaurants very often, but when I do, this is the type of meal I expect to get. It may not have been a life-altering experience, but it was a great one. Based on my meal and compared with eating around Vernon, I would say that this is the best restaurant in the Vernon area, which it should be considering the cost.
After spending such a high price at sparkling hill I expected amazing food. The food was over priced and had 0 flavour. Save your money and eat elsewhere.
Food is below average. Hounistly, from a long drive, we were kinda of expecting dinner, but so disappointed. First we were told we can’t get in until 6:45. But it’s nobody when we get in till we left @8, it’s just half full. Main disappointed thing is the foods. Poor value for the price they charge and the taste is so poor. Just simply salty and BBQ sauce. Server is ok, but bus boy r so unprofessional, I felt like I dinning in a casual fast food restaurants. Overall it so not worthy, but up here this is ur only choice.
Utterly disappointing. I emailed the management to complain three weeks ago and have not had a response. They care little for quality and it shows. Save your money. Email below:Hi there,I’m sorry to report that we had a very unsatisfactory dinner at the restaurant on Saturday November 26th. We brought my mother for her 70th birthday. I am a lawyer and had promised her a fine dining experience, the like that I regularly enjoy in Vancouver, Victoria, and San Francisco. Our starters arrived within 5 minutes of ordering them, which isn’t horrible, except that they arrived before our wine. We hadn’t even had a chance to settle in and enjoy a small bit of conversation. And then, to not have our wine? The wine did come on the heels of the food, 4 or 5 minutes later. I will say the starters were lovely, I had the scallops and my mother and sister had some salads. When the starter plates were cleared, I kid you not, the mains arrived FIVE MINUTES later. We had been in the restaurant maybe 25 minutes. Our first glasses of wine (which had arrived late) were 3/4 full. All of us were switching to red with our meals, and yet had almost full glasses of white left to drink. I resisted the urge to order the mains be sent back to the kitchen so that we could eat in a somewhat normal fashion. My mother would have been mortified, however, so we just made do. We had decided on pairing our food with the suggested wine, but the glasses of red didn’t arrive until 10-15 minutes into the main course. So there we were, multiple glasses of wine on the go, feeling as if we were at some Vegas buffet, being herded through so the next seating could occur. Unfortunately, it was very obvious that the mains had been sitting and waiting for someone to order them. My sister and I had the lamb, my mother the prime rib. The mashed potatoes had a hard crust on them from sitting under heat lamps. The season vegetables were toughened, again from sitting under heat lamps. We had no less than 5 different staff attend our table, asking the same questions multiple times, and interrupting our evening. All in all, a very ham-fisted attempt at a fine dining experience. For a $400 meal, it was, unfortunately, sub-par. I wish I had better things to say, and I would love to be able to recommend this restaurant to my professional colleagues, but as it currently stands, I cannot. Anyone who has experience with finer dining will be disappointed with what we experienced on Saturday night. Beautiful setting, ham-fisted clumsy service, sub-par food. I had hoped for much, much better. I look forward to hearing from you,
My wife and I went to Peak Fine last night for dinner. We’re staying at Predator Ridge for our honeymoon and decided to make a reservation. It was as close to perfect as you can get in a restaurant, even with a couple hiccups. It’s how they were handled that speaks of the customer service commitment. Rob was our server and he was phenomenal. He was speedy and efficient with drink service. My prime rib came over cooked, but he apologized multiple times, and had them redo a new cut ASAP. The PR was great, her tofu pasta was admittedly delightful as well, and I’m not a tofu fan. I’ve read a lot of negative reviews on this restaurant and honestly, as an experienced fine diner, they’re just plain wrong. We will absolutely come back again, and next time we’ll stay at Sparkling Hill as well. It was first class!
While the service was alright, the food was worse. We had 2 3-course dinners included in our resort package and my husband and I were quite disappointed considering the price we had paid. Nice presentation is deceiving. Both nights my husband’s steak were not cooked to his liking. Dishes were either overcooked, too bland, or too salty, or looked like mush. Vegetables were super soft. Desserts had too many flavours going on so it was hard on the taste buds. Seems to be lacking consistency in the kitchen as we had the same mussel dish both nights and they tasted DIFFERENT. My fish on the second night had multiple bones in it that I almost choked. Would never eat at the restaurant again. The complimentary breakfast tasted 10 times better than dinner. Rest of the resort was awesome though!
