Dat coffee though. Kings Rd location: I went in early last year for the first time on one of their tasting days and was amazed by the Zelele Yirgacheffe coffee and beans. The best and most complex coffee flavour experience I have ever had. Standard efficient service, knowledgeable staff recommendations, definitely a unique vibe and personality here – my only real complaint at this location is that the seating options seem quite sparse, although maybe that’s because we are supposed to share space and make new friends. 😉
Pretty dreadful. The staff didn’t acknowledge my existence. Dirty customer coffee prep station. Coffee was good but overall attitude of the staff was snooty.
I don’t see why so many people are complaining about the service. It might seem odd at first walking in because this is not starbux and neither is the coffee. This coffee is my favorite out of all the local roasters, the staff is knowledgable and know how to brew great coffee. That’s all that matters to me
Great coffee. Great service. The staff are friendly helpful and kind to a wide range of interesting customers! The pie looks amazing but I just didn’t have room.
The most ridiculous snooty attitude. They refuse to serve coffee the way I want it. So, as they are not flexible in the matter, I will never buy coffee from them.
Hip place. One redeeming quality that this coffee place has is Character. It’s no-nonsense coffee, from no-nonsense staff.I’ve read a number of critiques complaining about the mannerisms of the servers. Well, all ‘rudeness’ as people call it aside, the brusqueness and gusto with which the staff prepare and serve up wake-up juice really lends to the spirit of the bustling busy rush-hour morning that graces the corners of Quadra and Kings every weekday morning. It’s not terribly unlike my mother shaking me out of bed every morning when I was a kid to get ready for school. It was unpleasant, to say the least, but full of love.This is a very nice place to get coffee on the go. Why so many people have complained about it kinda shows the affinity they have for it’s character. Why else would they bother to write about it. Anyway, I’ve never had such a strong cup of Joe for less than two bucks anywhere else.Thumbs up for this place.
Coffee is fine. With so many many coffee shops, it is not enough to serve good coffee in this town — you also must have a semblance of customer service. The coffee is not so good that I will put up with bad service. I won’t go again.
