I visited the restaurant with my classmates in April. The food doesn’t look very good, but once you dig in it’s great. The split pea soup was good and chunky, and the sole was absolutely delicious. The chocolate crepes were also good, but kind of inconvenient to eat. We didn’t get a knife, so we are with fingers and forks. The dessert could use a touch more sugar. Overall, a great experience and good service. Michel, the chef is very kind and welcoming. Le Vol Au Vent is a great place to take your family, as long as they aren’t too picky eaters.
The restaurant is very nice and cosy with a very homely ambiance. We ordered calamari for starter which was delicious and for main the seafood bouillabaisse and grilled fish which were also nice. For dessert we ordered lemon meringue pie and peach tart which was just alright. They looked tempting but taste that good. Overall it was a nice experience.
Yummy food, great homey vibe. Really great food, but maybe not worth a trip down to white rockFull review at: http://www.yummyvancouver.wordpress.com yummyvancouver.wordpress.com
Foodie. Vol au vent with chanterelles, FRIES and house salad. heaven.Travelled extensively for 35 years and this is my favorite restaurant. I take my 96 year old friend and her favorite thing is escargot. So good. Then she orders something to take home. Which she enjoys for a couple of days.. The owners are so professional, accommodating and friendly. As I said, my favorite place to go.
We tried the escargot, stuffed mussels, seafood salad, and calamari. All were awesome except the calamari was quite flavorless. Also had amazing creme brle and almond tart. Service was great !14 Jul, 2014Seafood Salad. Very tasty! Salmon, shrimp, scallop, mussel, clam, oyster, squid and a white fish.14 Jul, 2014Calamari. Not very flavorful but the tartar sauce was good.
Beautifully French. Everything is done just right. My favorites are the upside down apple tart and the seasonal chanterelle mushroom tart. Don’t miss this jem amongst all the hodge podge fish and chip joints!
Personally my favorite restaurant on the white rock stripe. Love their duck pt, lamb chop and their dessert selections. Owned by a French couple, really like the whole atmosphere.
