I used to visit this place every once in while when I needed something nearby, but the quality has taken a severe nose dive! I’m actually throwing out $15 worth of hacked up chucks of salmon sashimi..I’m by no means a sushi snob but I’m actually worried about my health finishing it. I also ordered appetizer tempura and it’s awful. I will not be going back.
I can not say this more clearly, do not go here. Before it was sold to the new owners i would come here a few times a week. If you want good sushi I have seen the previous owners at Maguroguy sushi. The new owners are rude, and their carelessness is reflected by the quality of their food. If you are smart enough to read this, please sell your restaurant to people who care before you lose more money than you already have.
First off I would give this rating a 0/5 but in order to write this review I had to give it a 1. I would avoid this place at all costs if your not looking to get sick afterwords and have a very unpleasant experience. First off I would like to mention that the ownership has changed. Ever since the Chinese people started running it, the place has gone to hell. Me and my fiance were looking for a rather cheap place to eat some sushi and came across this place that was less then a block away from where I live. When we entered the restaurant we were not greeted by the staff, and sat down at one of the tables. There were hardly any people there, and our table was poorly cleaned. The most shocking thing of all was our waitress who was a creepy 9 year old Chinese girl, I’m guessing she was the owners daughter. Like isn’t that against child labour laws or something? Our second sign something was not right is when we saw one of the customers proceed to get angry at the owner for purposely charging him extra for his soda on his bill, I knew right then we were in for a bad time! When we ordered our food, and let me tell you it was absolutely disgusting. The fish taste was frozen, the rice was hard, everything tasted like it was made days in advance. Nothing was fresh at all. Almost made us feel like puking it all up. I cancelled the rest of our order and refused to pay. The owner was so rude and acted retarted like there was nothing wrong with her food or the restaurant, and to play us off like I was some kind of fool. I told her off right away like the customer is always right. She even added an extra charge to the beef donburi that we ordered which was clearly written in the menu. This place just rips you off and is horrible service we never got our soda we ordered and the staff are absolutely clueless. We are never ever going back there again. That place needs to be shut down cause of the rude staff and the illegal kid working as our server plus they were stealing from us cause they ripped us off
The service was good, and the sushi was yummy, better thank Kappa. Our family enjoyed the meal at the shochiku. we loved our experiences. we had a high opinion of this restaurant.. The owner spoke Japanese so fluently. We will be absolutely return for more meals or take out meals.
I have been a regular customer of Sho Chiku for a long time and used to enjoy their food. This place used to be run by very nice Korean people that made good food. I had a horrible experience there recently when I ordered take out. When I arrived to the restaurant it was dirty, disorganized and the staff was all new which concerned me but I made the mistake of still picking up my food. There was a young girl there who took my order, about 9 years old, whom I had never seen before. When I brought it home, the food was poorly presented, looked old like it had been made days earlier, smelled badly of old fish and was very skimpy compared to my previous orders. I had one bite of a roll and had to spit it out it was so disgusting. I have never eaten more disgusting sushi in my life. It was so bad I decided to return it which I have also never done before. When I got there the new woman denied that there were new owners and argued with me about the quality and cleanliness and refused to give me my money back because ONE piece of a roll out of my $60.00 order was eaten. Finally she agreed to give me back $40.00 and charge me $20 for the single piece of the roll. The woman was rude, argumentative and frantic, terrible customer service. This place has been completely ruined by new Chinese owners and I will NEVER go back there. DO NOT go to this place it is foul!!!
