Worst food I’ve had in Abbotsford period. It all tastes the same; bad. We go for my mom’s sake but I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. Try Thong La in Cedar Park just down the road for something more authentic and affordable, or Dragon Fort for more expensive authenticity. What Mandarin Garden sells cannot even be called Chinese. My family actually feels bad for the chef if he or she is of Chinese descent because they would have to be forced to put food out like that. Shameful. $70 for four people and upset stomachs all the way home.
Bad very Bad. I went for dinner buffet Saturday night with a friend, $15 for buffet each, the food was horrible, greasy, tasteless, and the desserts were cheap Little Debbie deserts cut into little squares, I left with a bad stomache. I had read some bad reviews but thought I would give it a try, we would of been better of going to a nice Chinese restaurant and having a Dinner for Two, Will not be going back.
Rude manager. I go to Mandarin Garden for one reason only, because my kids enjoy it, mostly the desert part of the buffet. In the past as a family we have gone on nights that are not as busy and seen employees adding broth and stiring it into to the food sitting out on the buffet because it has been sitting so long and is drying out, umm, yuck, just put fresh food out! The last time. When my hubby was out of town for work and we went on a Tuesday, where you get your second buffet for 50% off. When I went to pay I asked about the deal for my son and they said it is for adult prices only, I said they could charge my son for the adult and give the discount on him it would still save me some money, the manager spoke to me rudely and told me if we do this today they would always charge my son for the full price no matter what and that maybe this is not the right place for us to come. We were some what regular customers as we could wak there in about 15 minutes to get some light activity into our evening and not have to wait to get our food, we would go about 1 time a month. We were never rude, left a mess or wasted food and my hubby usually ordered a beer with his meal instead of the free water. Neither did we pig out on food as it does upset our tummies to do so, maybe it has to do with them not removing the older food as often as they should. I could deal with the food issues but rude service and by a manager is unacceptable.
I didn’t get no satisfaction. The restaurant itself is crowded into strange configuations, with narrow aisles spaced in a rectangular maze. Five of us were seated at a table that would have been at home in a traffic jam. People passing by with full plates threatened to give us a Chinese food challenge dousing, The food itself varied from over battered to over-cooked and greasy. the sweet and sour pork was a ripe red and stringy, the dumplings were rubbery and filled with cabbage, the chow mein was sticky and stringy. The fish dish was past its prime, on the verge of freezer burn. The few dim sum items were gummy and tasteless. I found enough fruit and dessert to leave with a modicum of satisfaction. I refuse to cry over spilled milk because I will never return.
Great atmosphere and food! great place to bring your family and friends! the waitstaff really care about the customers comfortableness.
This place is disgusting. Will never come back. Either these reviews are nuts or no taste buds. Don’t go here you have been warned
Straight into the garbage. The only good part of the meal was the pre-wrapped fortune cookies. Beyond disgusting.
