Disclaimer: I’ve only tried the sweets from this place, so my review will only be based on their desserts.I will start out with the positives first: The staff members are quite friendly. When I entered, the lady working behind the counter greeted me and took me through their menu and explained everything to me. I was interested primarily in their Asian-style pastries, and ended up purchasing a Naidong Roll (Original with Strawberry), Mille Crepe Cake (Uji Matcha with Red Bean), Tiramisu, and Dirty Cake. The desserts are all quite good in general, the standouts for me being the Naidong Roll and the Mille Crepe Cake, and are mild in flavour, ideal for those who don’t like overly-sweet desserts. Now onto the major glaring negative: their pastries are, at least in my opinion, outrageously overpriced. The four slices of cakes, which are TINY, ended up costing me almost $40. *insert expletive here* Moreover, they did not have their prices on display, so I had no idea just how expensive everything was until I got rung up at the counter (and I was too embarassed by then to cancel my order). Now, they do have other food as well, including a variety of traditional Asian/Taiwanese breakfast/lunch items, and maybe those are more reasonably priced and worth visiting for. However, dessert-wise, I honestly cannot recommend this place, not when there are at least a dozen other great Asian-style bakeries around offering just as tasty cakes at a fraction of the cost.Naidong Roll (Original with Strawberry, $7.50):4/5This was a swiss roll consisting of a sponge cake that’s filled with cream, a piece of jello, and a strawberry. The sponge cake itself was pretty good: light, fluffly, mildly sweet, and was not overly dry. Although I’m not normally a huge fan of jello, I actually enjoyed it here, which was not overly stiff and had a nice fragrance. The flavours here are mild, Mille Crepe Cake (Uji Matcha with Red Bean, $13)4/5This consisted of layers of matcha-flavoured crepe sandwiching cream and red bean filling. This was the first time that I’ve had this type of dessert before, and I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The crepe was quite tender, with a slightly chewy texture, and had a wonderful aroma of matcha. The red bean filling was mildly sweet, slightly starchy, and paired very well with the green tea.Tiramisu ($9.95):3.5/5This consisted of layers of coffee flavoured cake sandwiching cream/mousse. The cake was quite soft, light and fluffy, and had a nice bit of bitterness. I did find the coffee flavour to be a little weak however, and I do wish that they could have used a bit more liquor as I like my cake to be more moist in a tiramisu. The Dirty Cake ($8.95):3/5This consisted of their plain, matcha, and chocolate cake, sandwiching layers of cake and topped with chocolate glaze. Each of the cakes were quite soft and fluffy, although I can’t really taste much of their individual flavours. The cream was light, and mildly sweet. This was fine; just nothing memorable.Summary:Food: 3.5/5Price: 0/5Service: N/AOverall: 2.5/5Recommendations: N/A (Mille Crepe Cake, Naidong Roll if you’ve got money to burn)

After eating my meal at this restaurant, I needed to use the washroom. The washroom door was ajar and I walked in and locked it behind me. Whilst using the facility, I was astonished to hear a key opening the door and a man attempted to enter. I was extremely upset, embarrassed and infuriated. I confronted a staff member and blamed the restaurant for handing out the key without checking whether the washroom was occupied. I hold the restaurant entirely responsible for their negligence. I had a most upsetting, horrifying and embarrassing experience. I will certainly tell my friends and acquaintances about what happened and will not eat here again.

If I could rate a 0/5 I would. First time we wanted to take advantage of this deal based on instagram- we were told no and thats only applicable to new customers (where does it say that?). On top of that they told us they will give us the deal if we rate them 5/5 on google….and the tomboyish girl watched us write a review in order for us to get the deal. This is NOT service but pure selfishness.Second time we went was today January 27, we took our dad there for his birthday and they said the deal ended. ( the deal on Instagram clearly states expires January 28) The tomboyish girl then said oh we ran out of ingredients but said we can still order the pork belly bao and popcorn chicken at full price..theres a discrepancy in what she said. She refused to serve us this deal and then claims that oh its because they need to serve other customers as well. then proceed with making up the excuse that theyre closing for lunar new year in two days etc etc. So which excuse is it? She FINALLY said we dont have the taro cake- so instead of losing 3 long standing customers….she could have offered a replacement of the cake ???? Where was the service on that? Anyone who is reading this review (including the owner of this cafe) – the staffs will bullshit their way in making up excuses….and its ridiculous that they dont put prices on any of their items…not to mention ALL of their items are overpriced. We are never returning to this place – such a horrible experience and they ruined my dads birthday. my dad was severely disappointed in their crappy service as well.

This is my go-to study spot! It’s quiet and the staff is very nice. There’s a great selection of drinks and food to choose from. I love their matcha green tea latte. In terms of brain food, I’ve tried the deep fried Taiwanese chicken, tofu, pastries, and loaves. So far, I’ve enjoyed them all. I wish there were more outlets because there’s only one in the corner. Other than that, I find myself going out of my way to come back here!
