I’ve been coming here for years. Over those years, i have been impressed by the quality and selection, even if it was a touch pricey.No more.I came during lunch hour and found it not very busy… Which was already wierd. I ordered my regular donair, and watched as the worker prepared dry, crumbly pita bread, doubling up so that it wouldn’t fall apart. She then added browning lettuce and began to add soggy see thru tomatoes before i asked her to not use the almost rotten ones. The diverse topping selection had disappeared. When i ate (most of) it, it tasted old and stale, thanks to the bread.The final insult: the price isn’t any cheaper than before. They downgraded their product but kept the prices. It’s quite clear they are wholly profit driven now. Unfortunate, but I’m more than happy to try one of the dozen other donair shops that are popping up, like Donair Affair.
Ordered the Trio Plate over the phone and the lady could barely understand me. Apparently, the menu on here is an old one and they haven’t updated it since they have the new one in store. On here, it states that the Trio Plate costs $10.99 but when I went to pick it up, the lady tried charging me $15! So, I go on to ask her as to why it’s that expensive and she said she was charging me extra for the meat. I told her I’m NOT paying that much as it states on this site that it’s $10.99, showing her the evidence. Lesson from this: DONAIR DUDE UPDATE YOUR MENU SO CUSTOMERS AREN’T MISLEAD!
came here at a late night quick bite, and was maybe expecting quite a lot about the items, definitely alright the meat was well seasoned and the sauces are well made as well, the price that they sell is definitely good for the portion in downtown as well, place is somewhat a little bit in between the two main areas of robson and davie. but definitely a good decent bite.ordered a samosa as well, definitely decent. but the donair is better to me. mangkr.wordpress.com
One of the better donair shops in vancity. They use large tortilla bread with different flavor options. They give good portions and are always consistent with the quality of their food. Staff are proffesional and helpful (most of the time). Oh and they panini press the donair at the end which is a nice touch.
Go in with no expectations and prepared to be blown. Donair dude is one of my favourite places downtown for a quick fix for under $10. It has become a rule with friends to end the night by getting donair dude. Ambiance of the place could use some work but food quality definitely speaks for the place.
Was expecting a regular donair with a softer donair wrap and a little more on the saucy side but it resembled a pita more. Regardless, the insides were yummy and the donair pita was super filled!
Really really good. Donair well constructed – didn’t fall apart even when loaded! Will be back
