Great food, great prices, absolutely fantastic service. The server (owner maybe?) was hilarious, friendly, and perfectly attentive.Seemed to have a good rapport with many patrons, who seems to be regulars. The food ontop of all of this was amazingly decadent and delicious.

Came here for brunch with boyfriend. He ordered the prosciutto Benny and I had the classic breakfast. His Benny was really good (great hollandaise sauce with amazing slices of grana padano). I ordered my eggs scramble (with cheese), bread was great. Definitely coming back to try other dishes. Best of all: no line-up 🙂

Walking into the space, it was dark and has an intimate feel. They have pretty good daily specials. It was Sunday, so a lot of people were here later in the evening for their beer and pizza special.Pork Belly has white balsamic, orange syrup, frisee, pickled mustard seed and crispy artichoke. Nice, fatty and crisp on the outside.Funghi Pizza has a white sauce, mushrooms, roasted garlic and topped with arugula. The texture of the pizza was quite interesting. It is thin crust but very crisp and delicate. The crust reminded me of pita chips. Definitely unique as I’ve haven’t encountered another pizza place with such a crisp pizza base. foodology.ca

Food was amazing, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We had the mussels to start, then we ordered the gnocchi and papardelle for mains. The mussels were HUGE, and the portion was also very big. By the time we had finished, both of us were already pretty full. The broth was a simple white wine base, but it was flavourful and not too salty. The mussels tasted fresh, a bit fishier than normal, but I’m still a fan.The gnocchi with chicken, pork belly and mushrooms was also very delicious, the chicken and mushrooms were super flavourful, just the right savoury level, and the gnocchi with fluffy and the perfect level of soft/chewiness. The pork belly was a nice touch, but not necessary as the rest of the dish was already perfect. The papardelle was again super delicious with good sized portions, lots of meat, and the bone marrow was a nice touch and mixed in well with the rest of the dish. My only complaint was that it was slightly too greasy, but it was still good nonetheless. The service at the restaurant was suuuper good, our server was very attentive and asked us regularly how we liked our food. Food came at a good pace, not too quick that I felt like they were rushing us out, but not so slow that we waited forever. My biggest complaint, though, was when we called in the night before to confirm our reservation (we had left a message with our reservation request, but we never got a call back), the guy on the phone, who I assume was the manager, was really rude. My boyfriend was sitting next to me and heard the entire conversation and was also not impressed with his attitude.Nonetheless, I really enjoyed my dinner there, and will definitely return. maddyloves.com

We visited Grotto tonight. Had great service. The gnocchi was fantastic. Even my husband who isn’t a fan of mushrooms enjoyed the dish. We also ordered the osso bucco and muffuleta pizza. These were just OK for us. The osso bucco needed a little acid and there wasn’t much meat. I’d definitely try again.

Lovely, slightly out-of-the way space, very nice service. We split the prosciutto pizza, a side of bread, a half-liter of wine, and a tiramisu, and I had a green salad. The pizza crust was quite thin, and got a bit soggy in the middle, but the prosciutto was nicely balanced with figs; the salad was a cut above a standard house side-salad, with artichoke hearts and a nice vinaigrette. Will definitely be back, maybe for brunch.

New spot. Pasta, pizza and other dishes. The Osso Buco is excellent as is the gnocchi. Reasonable prices. Nice room with friendly service
