I enjoyed the food here a lot. The sushi is a bit on the pricy side but that’s ok. I ordered the Hatzu crunch tower and oh boy it was absolutely delicious! (and instagram worthy) Service was good for the most part but the waitresses kept coming up to us like every 5 minutes to see if everything is ok lol. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a good sushi place in the west end.

Japanese Bistro Hatzu is located on Davie Street Vancouver, which is across the street from the Greek Food Restaurant. Weve been to this restaurant only once by accident. We actually planned to have a Greek Food, but there were so many people waiting outside the restaurant. In this way, we decided to find some other restaurant nearby. Japanese Bistro Hatzu is a few minutes walking and across the street, so we decided to go there. We arrived the restaurant right during the dinner time. The restaurant was busy. After a few minutes waiting, we got a table and server let us move in. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and clean. All the servers were really nice and friendly. They all wear the uniform. When they saw you confused about the menu, some of them would come to you to help. We ordered Sashimi Don, Beef Teriyaki, and Tofu Teriyaki. The food came fast Sashimi was really fresh. Beef and Tofu Teriyaki were well cooked and tasted great. food.belindajin.com

Snobby staff that don’t care about the customers. Every employee was rude and miserable to serve customers. They try to make their food look fancy but the taste is very underwhelming. The prices are too expensive compared to other sushi restaurants in the area and the sushi is just disappointing with weird sauces and small portions. Don’t bother wasting your time or money here.

We actually weren’t planning to come here, but the restaurant we wanted to try was closed and this was close by. When we got there, most of the tables were filled and there was only space at the bar. But a few minutes later, a table opened up and the server offered to let us move, which was nice. Service overall was really good. We tried the salmon battera, beef udon, and the ocean albacore roll. The size of the battera was quite large. I think there was too much rice with this one. But their flavours were pretty good and slightly different from other oshi sushi I’ve had. The beef udon was a good size and there was lots of beef. Only thing was the beef was still kind of clumped together into one piece. The ocean albacore roll was OK. I thought the sauce was a bit too overpowering. Overall the food was good, but I don’t think I’d go out of my way to come back. Some of the things on the menu are a bit pricier than other places for similar items as well.

Food was good but the service was really slow and the one waitress was super rude. Not worth the price. There’s better sushi on Davie for the same.

Hatzu towers are strangely amazing .. they also happen to be their specialty. It might less in quantity but they filling . All the food is good . The service and place is also comfortable .

Small restaurant on Davie. It is more a fusion style of Japanese restaurant than a traditional one. We ordered some rolls and some deep fried items, all pretty tasty.
