We came here for a coffee and bread on Sunday morning. We could see the owner put in time, effort and money on the interior design. Its all about bikes and bikers. Great interior design and ambience. When we were drinking the coffee and eating the bread, we spent time to look at the well designed menu on the table, bikes, water bottles, jerseys and etc. above our heads, on the walls and everywhere. I love the cafe or owner put a notice right at the counter that there was no wifi or laptops allowed on weekends and holidays. I saw reviews that some customers who came here and were willing to pay for coffee could not find seats and tables and they forced to leave the coffee shop. It was all because of those selfish people who used their laptops and sat for hours at the coffee shop. Those angry customers wrote reviews here or on Google reviews. Finally the owner put this sign up and tried to make sure customers can find seats and table when they come here. I ordered a latte and a ham croissant. The latte tasted great! The coffee shop used coffee beans from Pallet Coffee Roaster. The croissant exceeded my expectations. The texture of the croissant was crispy outside and soft inside. It wrapped with ham, cheese and a veggie. The combo of this croissant worked well and made the flavour more awesome! The pricing was reasonable and the coffee shop is located in downtown. It did not overprice the food and drinks. The service was great. Although the baristas were busy dealing with customers, they would still keep their face smile and greeted the customers. I encountered some baristas that they were working under stress and they would not smile or greet the customers and one or two were rude to customers. Overall I had a great eating experience here. I would like to go back and try other bread and coffee beverages next time. I also recommend people to visit this coffee shop if they are in downtown or in the neighbourhood.
The bike concept is nice. No computers allowed over weekend. I heard of no internet but never heard of this before. I was asked to shut my computer. I was using my own internet connection. The cafe was less than half full. I have purchased desert and coffee not just abusing the place. Oh well, there are other places.
The turmeric chia pudding is only half cup full – half cup of the turmeric chia with both chunks of pineapple and shredded coconut as topping. They separated the almond pieces and the toasted shredded coconut from the chia pudding by putting them in a small plastic container which is inside the regular plastic cup. The panna cotta chia pudding does not have the berries as the topping as shown as in their facebook. Importantly, the panna cotta is not set – the panna cotta has cracks on the top and it’s shaky. Both chia pudding taste fine – healthy not sweet. However, with the price that they charge, the tumeric one should be full cup, and the panna cotta one should have better quality. For the matcha latte, the latte art is not as pretty as shown as in their facebook. Also, it’s sweet and milky and hence the matcha tastes weak. The interior design is artistic, but their products do not allure me to come back.
