This is the first time that we came to this place after the renovation (while I cant go too often since it cost about $80 – $100 per person). Originally I was going to write a long review, but Ive decided to keep it short and straight to the point-If you like silent and serious ambient and eat fresh, rare, raw, and expensive sushi while watching a professional sushi chef to make it right in front of you, then this place is perfect for you, and Ill give it a 9/10. If not, 2/10.
I heard this place has Japanese fresh fish.. But the only fish I tasted was fishy fish.. If they were in Tokyo, this place would not be up to standards. It’s the worse omakase I’ve been to.. You can tell buy how the chef marinates the chu toro in a sauce that it isn’t that fresh.. It was marinated for so long that it was so salty.. If you don’t know authentic Japanese sushi, then I guess nothing to compare to. But I don’t understand how anyone would say it’s fresh. I would give it 0. The wife is nice tho.. But it’s unfortunate that it isn’t fresh.. The way he does the sushi is not up to standard. Sauce is not even on each sushi. Sorry to say.. Zero
Heard alot of good reviews and saw awesome pictures on instagram before coming here. It absolutely DID NOT disappoint! Super high quality, it’s on the expensive side but the presentation and taste is top notch. We ordered the premium omakase with included bluefin tuna and hokkaido uni nigiris. Some say the chef is not that friendly, but I tend to disagree because he is just very focus on perfecting his food. He explains every dish prior to serving, very enjoyable experience. I will definitely make a trip back sometime soon!
Quite an unique experience – one of it’s kind in Vancouver. This tiny 10 seat sushi restaurant offers fresh seafood from Hokkaido direct. And they serve their sushi piece by piece just like how they’re supposed to do in Japan. You don’t need extra soya sauce or wasabi. The chef uses his special sauces for the sushi pieces and it is by far one of the freshest sushi I had in town.
This place I would give 0 if I can. I’ve been to all the Japanese restaurants like Miku , Zest , Tojo’s but this place service was so bad even the sashimi taste fishy.
