Not like it used to be. Prices have gone up, like everywhere. But no matter what I ordereverything is cooked in the same tasteless sauce.Too many tries to return again.Nice people, good location, but food is no longer a draw.
Not good!. We saw it had a 91% rating on here so figured it must be good. But it was truly below average. It was strange how tasteless everything was. We had the veggie spring rolls, the chow mein, ginger beef and the almond chicken. Everything was DRY. Way too dry. There wasn’t enough soy sauce available to make it tasty enough. Anyways, I figured I’d write this so nobody gets blind-sided like I did. Maybe it was just a one-off, but it was awful.
Huh?. I have no idea how this place gets so highly rated, the food was mediocre at best. The spring rolls were terribly greasy, the wonton was not good, the almond chicken was gummy and greasy and salty, the best dish was the pan fried seasonal veggies an easy one not to screw up. i certainly won’t be spending my money here again, there are far better places.
What a delemma. Gawd I love the food here. I’ve tried everything on the menu and have introduced most of my friends to the place.Love the giant fire/water wok thingy in the front widow. As soon as walk through the door I’m transported to Szechuan province. The staff are great as well. West Ender restaurant continues to rate this restaurant its #1 Szechuan restaurant year over year.My dilemma ……Unfortunately the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority restaurant inspections state otherwise. This isn’t a one time mishap its been chronic for years. I won’t get into it but readers should be checking out their favorite restaurant ratings through the VCHA Restaurant inspection site.
Ordered takeout. Special chow mein noodles were crispy and stale. BBQ pork was cold and bland. Hot and sour soup was average at best. Will not return.
Great Take Out/Delivery. Really great Chinese/Szechuan food for reasonable prices. Love love love the peking pork!
