Best Chinese food we’ve ever found in the Okanogan , sorry some other people had bad experience apparently by posts , but every time we order the food is epic and everyone loves it , just had family staying here from calgary for two weeks , we ended up ordering 3 times it was so good and everyone agreed it was better then any thing they had gotten in Calgary either , strongly recommend the food ! If you have allergies or dietary needs, do not go to this restaurant. Not because the chef’s aren’t able to accommodate, but because the managerial and wait staff can’t be bothered to ensure you will be taken care of. Now that the mom is no longer working in the restaurant, be prepared for poor service and a rude attitude from staff who are not willing to make sure that your dining experience is pleasant. The last two times I ate there, I requested no bell peppers (as I had many times before, in the same dishes) as I have an allergy to them. It was obvious they were just picked out, as there were remnants of peppers sticking to the ginger beef. I found this out after a few bites, and during the beginnings of my mouth starting to blister. We had gotten takeout and driven it back to penticton, and by the time this had happened they were closed. Thankfully my allergy is not anaphylactic, just really painful and uncomfortable, but I wouldn’t want others who have any sort of dietary constraints to go there.
Cold food, missing items, and extreme long wait! Ordered food over the phone and were told it would be ready in 30-45 minutes, Got to the restaurant at the 30 minute mark and waited in the restaurant for another full hour until our food was finally ready. Waiting with us were about another 10 people all cramped into the tiny space in the restaurant. Everybody seemed to have been waiting for a long time. When other people phoned in we could hear then giving then a wait time of 30 minutes, so more and more people waited in the tiny space cramped together standing there for an hour. Upon arrival we were told food would be ready in 10 minutes, which obviously wasn’t the case. When we checked in 30 minutes later, they told us they were just packing our last item, which wasn’t true again, as we didn’t receive the food until another 20 minutes later. When we finally received our food and got home, (which is only a 5 minute drive away) half the food was cold and soggy. The pineapple chicken also didn’t have a single pineapple in it. The food itself wasn’t bad, but not worth the money, and super frustrating when you waste and hour and a half of your Sunday waiting, while kept being told, 5 more minutes. Quite disappointing experience.
Mei Wei has the best chinese food that I have eaten in the Okanagon. The food is piping hot whether we eat in or have it delivered. Even the deep fried prawns arrived at our house hot and crispy (not soggy),We have been eating there for 2 years and it is a favorite of my husband and myself. The food is fresh, hot, and there is plenty of it. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.
SCREW UP. NOT RECOMMENDED…..Pre-ordered 2 combos. Arrived about 20 minutes later and my brother went in while I waited and waited and waited. About 20-25 minutes later he comes out with 1 order. I called and asked where the rest of the order was and they said they couldn’t find the phone number given so they had to make his order. (They never asked for a number). They kept trying to tell me that this was all due to not having a phone number to which I replied that it wasn’t my fault no one asked for one. They said if we came back in they would have it ready…..as I told them I wasn’t prepared to wait another 25 minutes for the second order. Then the said they had my order there….then why the heck (have to use nice words) didn’t they give it to us in the first place. So we went back in and got the right order having to pay for only 1 order as we had already paid for one (as far as I’m concerned for customer satisfaction, the 2nd one should have been complimentary). I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE.
Love the egg rolls. First time ordering here the other day and really enjoyed it. The egg rolls were awesome, never had them like that before and they were super good. We’ll be ordering here again 🙂
