Since Don Chepe’s opened, it has become my go-to place for papusas! First of all they are massive in size, and secondly, they contain an ample amount of filling. Looking forward to trying the other delicious looking items on their menu, but it’s also very difficult not to order the papusas revueltas like I always do. The staff are always friendly and the restaurant itself has a very laid back and welcoming atmosphere. Overall, a great, affordable little family run restaurant that I will continue to frequent.
Don Chepe’s is a Salvadoran cuisine restaurant with flavors from neighbouring countries such as Mexico and even some texmex options. The restaurant was birthed from the hospital tradition’s of Don Chepe the owners abuelito (grand dad). I am from El Salvador and thus am very excited that the infamous pupusas are close to home. The sopa de pata is a dish that contains tripe and the tender meat from the hooves of beef, it is one of my favorite traditional soups from El Salvador and it was very delicious. I also had the orchata, don’t be fooled by thinking its like the Mexican drink which it is not. It is very good. The pupusas are to die for, they are filled with generous portions of stringy cheese and remeber are glutten free as the masa (flour) is made out of corn. They also have safe and tasty tex mex food such as quesadilas and burritos but I would recommend you venture out. So many more things to try but in time we will get there.
