Best little chinese restuarant around. For all bad reviewers YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT…. Not only is the service AWESOME where else local can you go for a $6.50 lunch that includes a drink ( tea) and soup???? They say you can tell a good chinese restaurant by how many chinese / asain people eat there….. Well always busy with Asian patrons. My favorite dishes range from the szechuan pork w) garlic to their szechuan green beans YUMMY!!!!! I take pride with my asain palet and I cant say enuogh good things about this little restaurant. Best ABSOLUTLY the BEST chinese food in the Peninsula. Bad reviewers obviously have NO taste for good rephrase that GREAT authentic szechuan cuisine. Thanks Dining Wok for your awsome food.
Give it a miss. Wanted to go to next-door Penang, but it was closed for a couple days. So I went here instead. It wasn’t very good. Hot and sour soup had no flavour, the sweet and sour chicken was boring with a lousy sauce that seemed to be made with red food coloring instead of ketchup. The only good thing was the tea and the waitress. Never again. Not for discerning palates.
Our favorite Chinese restaurant in white Rock. Please note that this is one of our favorite restaurants…We dine there at least once a week.. We eat at many different ethnic restaurants and this one tops the list. We just can’t understand the last review. Everything is always freshly prepared, seasoned beautifully and is scrumptious. And the service is so very friendly, cheerful and quick. Try the Almond Chicken or the Pastry with Shrimp, I have never tasted the latter at any other Chinese restaurant. It consists of fried rice cakes which sizzle when sauce is poured over. Very delicious. And they are open for lunch too, which is a great value !!
Actually the worst food I have ever had. PERIOD.. We ordered the wonton soup, sweet and sour pork, chop suey, and general tso chicken…. The sweet and sour pork was actually sweet and sour pork fat, completely disgusting. We actually picked through it all and couldn’t eat it, + the sauce was flavorless and jelly like. The beef chop suey didn’t have any sauce, was very very very dry and was just awful. The general tso chicken was okay, but thats only because of the sauce, I mean its just spicy and you cant really eff that up. The wonton soup was oily water, with no and I mean NO! flavor. All in all it cost 45$ with tip, and we could eat one of out 4 dishes. We even called the restaurant and they said next time we ordered they would give us two free dishes… Which isnt helpful because we will NEVER order from there again. Complete crap, Go to Penang szechuan instead, its on the same street and is 10000 x’s better! thymelovehunger.wordpress.com
I came upon this quintessential ‘hole in the wall’ by accident. Located in a non-descript, yet practical location in uptown White Rock I was taken by the hospitality of our hostess, the selection of tasty dishes, and the price. Lunch rang up at $6.50 and included tea, a small bowl of soup and a choice of entree with a portion of rice. Need I say more? Go on, give it a try…
Terrible. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. The Chow Mein had things in it that were unrecognizable. The Fried Rice was just steamed rice with some vegetables and scrambled egg stirred in to it. It was not fried and had absolutely no flavour. The Sweet and Sour sauce for the Deep Fried Prawns was cold. When I called to complain the woman said that she always sends it cold. She told me to heat it up in the microwave myself. I will never eat at this establishment again.
