Food as always has been elegant and well balanced with spotless presentation. Service has recovered from a considerable glitch I had a couple years ago so its nice to see things can change .I loved the Tuscan starters and the sablefish was perfectly done (albeit hard to overcook), artfully presented along with simple but effective desserts. Will be back.
Great ambience. Attentive service with good food. We shared a few appetizers which were very nice especially the salami was very authentic- home made. The wine list was extensive and made it hard to choose wine so we elected by the glass. The pasta dishes were very good – just right. Very authentic Italian. The fillet was also very tasty and just as ordered. Worth the visit if you enjoy Italian food.
Came here with friends on a friday night and it wasn’t packed with people… was really looking forward to the dinner as friends were raving about this place. We ordered lobster haven, another lobster dish, duck two ways and salad. The only thing that was good was the duck – the portion for lobster was not filling and it was a bit on the pricey side. Love the wine pairing though handpicked by the chef. Customer service was good but food wise was not worth the money.
I know…I know…who needs another review of one of Vancouver’s top rated restaurants. I finally had the opportunity to try Cioppino’s and it was well worth the wait. The restaurant is great…not too big, not too small. The staff is authentic, attentive and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, how the food is prepared and the ingredients. We started with the Scallops with mushrooms (wonderful) and the Gamberi alla Spagnola (also great). We had pasta as our main dishes, which included the Bolognese (the best I’ve ever had…really just amazing in every way) and the Papparedelle with the braised veal cheeks (so amazing you wish you could just keep eating and eating). We had a half liter of a great red wine our waiter suggested, the chocolate lava cake for dessert and a coffee. All and all it was exactly what I had hoped for. The only downside is I’m totally craving the pasta again…will be back soon.
Had the best experience at Cioppino’s. Chef Pino is amazing and so talented! Everything was so spectacular and delicious. We ordered Hokkaido Scallops, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Risotto, linguine alle vongole and sable fish (which was fantastic, my favorite sable fish by far). Excellent service, our waiter was very delightful and sweet. Didn’t have the chance to take any photos of our food, which was the one thing i regret not doing, but other than that, my boyfriend and I both enjoyed it very much. Walked out with a full and satisfied belly.
This is the best food in Vancouver. Fantastic atmosphere and service too. Wine list is extensive, definitely something in there for you. Owner came to our table a couple of times to ensure we were having a pleasant dinner. Exquisite service and outstanding food. Best place to go for a celebratory dinner.
