I WENT TO THE ER AFTER EATING HERE. I have been eating food at Crave India for two years now and the last 6 months the quality seemed to have been declining until two days ago. I had just finished work and hadnt eaten anything so I decided to treat myself to Crave India. I went around 4:15 and picked up Butter Chicken, rice and Garlic Naan. I got home 30 mins later and ate. As I was eating the sauce looked a bit watery but I thought nothing of it cause it tasted fine until 6pm. When I started getting very Nauseous. I went to the toilet and had awful diarrhea. And then on my way back ran for the sink and started violently throwing up. This went on till 9 am the next morning. During that time my kidneys started to hurt. So I Went to the ER. I was severely dehydrated and and had a horrible infection. Most likely E Coli. I have never been so sick. I missed work Sunday because I couldnt walk further than my bed to the washroom. And I write this still in bed and still not eating after three days. Im just begging they clean what ever needs to be cleaned so this doesnt happen to anyone else.

I wholeheartedly agree with Chantal Arseneaultand Saugata Poalibelow! This is definitely the best Indian food I’ve had downtown, and I am a huge fan. The naans are amazing. My go to is the amazingly creamy and flavourful palak paneer but occasionally give in and get the butter chicken! Even the cha is delicious with lots of cardamom and you can order it without sugar. BUT you want to share this with a date, definitely get it to go 😛

Look steady or you may miss it out. Hiding amongst the vibrant hunger spots as you walk down Granville street is one small restaurant for Indian food cravers. The eatery can only seat three couples, not more. A take away is always an option. The famed Indian dishes (not many options though) are served here, similar to the other ones in the trade. But what makes them absolutely different are the ‘Naan’ breads they make. Be it the panner or the chicken dish you order, but do not walk out without ordering the ‘ultra-soft’ Naans.

Great Indian take out. Crave India is a great little hole in the wall. Crave India has four tables (with two seats each) and a flat screen TV. Take out is a good idea, especially if the Canucks are playing. You may have a long wait for a table. The food is excellent and inexpensive. The food is at the upper level of my spiciness tolerance. That said, I could still taste the flavors underneath and they were delicious. In the US, I cant eat wheat. It causes headaches. I broke down and ate the naan. It was so yummy I couldnt resist. I didnt have a headache. This is a bone I need to pick with the US FDA what toxic substance is in our food chain in the US that isnt in Canada? Sorry about the digression, it does serve a purpose to tell you that the naan was great. The family who run Crave India are very nice. The younger gentleman proudly sported his Canucks gear. And he gave us fast, friendly service with a smile. Crave India will be our Indian take out of choice while in Vancouver BC.

Very small location but very friendly customer service. They were super busy but our food was made so quickly. And it tastes amazing. Will absolutely return for more.
