3.4/5 The fries are so good. The texture of fries is like tasting cheese bites. I also tried the fried chicken and egg burger (it is the only burger that has egg on their menu). The chicken is so plain. The Canadian burger has smoke meat on it, however, they need some improvement in term of juiciness.

After we sat down, we waited for like 15 minutes before a waiter came and took our order. We then noticed most people from the restaurant got moved to another section of the restaurant ,1/2 floor higher up, to have their wine and art class. Interesting…..service was better after the majority of people went to the class.We have ordered latke, poutine, two sandwiches. Latke was alright, Poutine was not what I expected, not enough gravy and cheese were not melted. Smoke meat sandwich was excellent. We have ordered 6 oz and medium fat. And another smoke meat clubhouse.
I think I must have walked past this place hundreds of times but I finally stopped in and I loved it. We ordered some Matzo Ball Soup, a Californian Grilled Cheese, a Cuban Sandwich, some Pickles and some Cherry Cokes. Food was fresh and delicious and the Service attentive and friendly. Will go back for more.
A real shame. I’ve been a couple of times, mostly due to a lack of options for smoked meat in Vancouver since Kaplan’s closed…which was amazing, and I don’t know how long it can really last. If you compare it to a Dunn’s sandwich in Montreal you could barely say it’s the same sandwich. I always order the large, which is about half of size it should be or how it is in Montreal. A large should have so much meat that the bread is practically at a 90 degree angle…here it’s barely any angel at all. The fries are OK and the bread is OK (but the bread is super important and should be a lot better than just OK).
Their poutine is terrible, do not get it!! The ones at Costco are better…. they barely put any cheese ans the fries are mediocre at best. Their meats are too dry for my liking and the flavors don’t really come out. Nice service and ambiance though!
Very disappointing. This was a good place for authentic Montreal smoked meat. We had lunch today. The restaurant is generally dirty, messy and my clothes stink now that I left. As well we had to fight off the flies for our food. Not a good experience. I can only guess at the cleanliness of the kitchen. Yuck.
I’m the type of guy that would love to have fatty pieces of meat every now and then. Here at Dunn’s, there is an option to have fatty or lean brisket in your sandwich. The size of the sandwich is enough to make you full. I was a little disappointed in the poutine because all you could taste is the oil in the fries. There was a lot of dessert options so my group decided to try a few. I’m very picky with desserts and prefer lightly sweetened and not rich, so the desserts were not my favourite. Maybe for the sweet tooth individuals, their desserts might take your taste buds on a journey. itsmechuck.com
