Food is very below par.
Do NOT go here for sports events. If you’re considering this bar for a big event such as UFC or a hockey game, I STRONGLY advise against it.I went with a group of friends to watch a UFC event and we were sure to arrive early to secure a table. We were there hours before the event but we were forced to move from our table right when the event started because some other group made a reservation, they could have told us this sooner! Next we were asked to pay a cover of $10 by an elderly lady, who seemed to be the bar owner, halfway into the UFC event. We had been there all day buying food and drink and the owner was tacky enough to somehow track us down and demand cover. We refused to pay even after multiple demands by the owner… I will NEVER go to a sports event here again!
Is it because I am gay you gave me such sh*** y service?. G lounge is in my neighborhood. I have been there many times over 10 years and the service and food was adequate. On Feb 15th went for food and beer to watch the game with my same sex partner, much like we had many times before. Not sure if these folks know that it is 2013 but we received really horrible service. No eye contact – surly attitude. The tables near us were served promptly and efficiently. They never checked to see if we needed more beer or anything and we were served by 3 different servers. One does wonder is this homophobia rearing it ugly head?As anyone who is a minority knows – we know how it feels when we are discriminated against. I encourage all educated and forward thinking people to boycott this establishment. It does not deserve our dollars if this is the staff that is hired. The food has also taken a slide in quality and no longer worth the Money….
Best sports venue in the city. Not a bad seat in the house. Great for ALL sports not just hockey which is rare in Vacouver. Huge TVs with the ability to show multiple games (march madness was insane!!) the food is awesome – try the pizza you won’t be disappointed!! Nice staff and great beers. Love the new Stanley Park Amber and Grolsch!
Friendly staff, proper pints, good food. Everything a good neighbourhod sports bar should offer. Great for the game or an afternoon pint.
HORRIBLE service. Being in the service industry myself, I’m not one to easily complain about my server. Last night we were getting additude from our server all night long. She acutally looked miserable being there. Instead of asking us if we wanted another round of beer, she would just simply say, ‘want some more stuff?’ I’m guessing she took advantage of the fact that she threw an 18% autograt, and didn’t care that she was flat out rude. She was pretty much was trying to get us to leave, when we weren’t even close to being finished.
Nice one!. Been to g sports a few times now and really love the Feeling of the room,great staff and for a sports bar the food is good and priced right.Any game you want they will show and i loved that. I will be back.
