PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANTThe owners of this restaurant have NO RESPECT for their neighbours in the residential building they are a Tennant in. DO NOT SUPPORT THESE PEOPLE. There are lots of other GREAT and RESPECTFUL restaurants in Vancouver, please do not go here.
Uninspiring. This was the worst Izakaya restaurant I’ve been too. The Izakaya menu was so boring I just ended up doing sushi which was average. All items on Izakaya were fried and there weren’t any authentic interesting options. I had their popular sushi tower dish, which was grose. It was essential crispy rice with mayonnaise spicy sauce and crap. It was bland. Service was also very slow and I had to yell to get seated after waiting over five minutes at the door with no one in the restaurant.
Kuma Izakaya is located in Yaletown close to the Skytrain. They serve up Japanese and Korean dishes with a hint of French influence. At first it can seem confusing how all 3 types of cuisines would come together.Kuma Signature Salad has fresh greens topped with sliced avocado, sliced tomato, pickles, house-made ricotta cheese, and crispy yam. It is drizzled with balsamic and house dressing.Mango Ebimayo comes with 5 pieces of the deep-fried prawns with mango sauce. The mango added a bit of sweetness to it. You should eat it right away as it loses its crunch quite quickly due to the sauce.Osso Buco uses premium AAA beef ribs simmered in house made soy sauce. It is also served with rice. The beef was super flavourful and tender. foodology.ca
