3.2/5. I ordered a vermicelli bowl (with 3 items ) and a iced coffee for lunch. The waiting time was alright. And vermicelli is average (nothing special sense). I like the coffee a lot, not too sweet and not too bitter, it is balanced perfectly. A good place to grab a to-go vietnamese coffee :).
Small eatery with big flavours! No table service, order at counter & food comes to you. Lovely staff who run the place. The restaurant is clean & welcoming. The mango mango smoothie delivered what it said- tasted like mangoes blended with ice. The beef ball pho was average, could have done with more beef. Soup & noodles were as expected.Fried wontons were very crispy & packed with pork filling. Came with sweet chilli sauce, plus sauces on the table for you to add to whatever you order. My recommendations- the special rice vermicelli bowl with your choice of 2 or 3 toppings. I chose the marinated pork, lemongrass chicken & spring roll. All were flavoursome individually & together as a whole dish. Overall great little restaurant.
I came here with a friend of mine for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised at how packed the restaurant is. It is a small space but busy. We both ordered the spring rolls and seafood pho. The spring rolls were decent; not too greasy. The pho was delicious!! It had a nice flavour and we didn’t need to add any extra sauce to get extra flavour.
My church friends and I came here for lunch as they said this pho restaurant was good. It was my first time to try this restaurant. It is located on Hornby Street in Downtown Vancouver, so I expected the restaurant would have a vibrant atmosphere and modern interior design. When I first stepped into the restaurant, I felt its interior design was below average at this downtown location. The restaurant was small, so there were only several tables. Having limited space in the restaurant was fine as long as the food was good. We had to order the food and paid at a counter in advance. It was like a canteen. My friends and I ordered beef and Vietnamese noodles in soup plus a marinated pork baguette. The quality of the food was good and the restaurant was clean, but the portion of each dish was very small. I am a small person but I still felt the portion was tiny. One of my friends had ordered the noodles in soup plus a baguette; otherwise it was not sufficient for him to fill up his stomach. The portion was small but the pricing was above the average. I might not want to come back here for pho as there are a lot of good ones in Greater Vancouver.
I like the taste, they do have good soup base. BUT this is not authentic pho, I know because I’m Vietnamese. Their soup base is catered to Westerners. The beef pho seems to miss a lot of different meats comparing to authentic beef pho. I do like the taste of their chicken broth but they’re not authentic taste. Their baguette is not that great, it seems lacking of flavour and other meat overall. Their salad roll doesn’t have pork meat/bacon which authentic salad roll normally has both bacon and prawns. Overall I do enjoy their chicken pho there.
Good. The wonton soup was nice. The pork roll were fresh. They were patient when I went there at 8:30. I was the last guest. But they still cooked the food nice.
And not ust for the iced coffee w/ condensed milk! The taste of the coffee but something almost in their cream or something, you just got to try it…it’s worth the headache in finding parking here on this one way street…They’ve got pretty good daily specials too, especially their salad rolls, made fresh and healthy. Has about 8 tables or so, gets pretty busy during lunch.
