Horrible service by the owner, and terrible food. I politely asked the owner a question about the sushi, and he was extremely rude to me. He glared at me incessantly as well. The sushi was over priced, and disgusting. Never eat here.

The staff were very friendly. If you’re looking for decent sushi at a good price, this is an excellent place. The dinner special was more food than I expected and I ended up taking some home. Bring your appetite with you to Sushi Maki!
So crappy. Unauthentic, poor quality food. Honestly, the worst excuse for japanese food I have ever had. DO NOT come here. Sushi Star is a block away, and is 10000x better.
All i can say is, GROSS. Don’t ever come here.
The Best All ‘Round. Sushi Maki is one of our favourites in the city. Huge portions but great prices mean you can get stuffed for not too much money. Wild salmon is delicious. Owners are friendly and polite, sushi comes quickly. Dining area is small but cozy, only complaint is no A/C makes it a little toasty during the summer. If you’re downtown and want the best combination of value and quality, Sushi Maki.
Nothing to write home about. I went here because this place came highly recommended by someone I trust. The sushi rolls were okay tasting, the sashimi was quite cold and a little watery, but what was really disappointing was the service.Apart from 1 other guy, we were the only ones there. And it took quite a long time to get our selection of maki. On top of that, I had to inquire about our sashimi 20 minutes after ordering as the cook and server (seemingly family) chatted and cleaned in the back.Tea was replenished, but no refill beverages or food was offered. We literally had to flag someone down for everything. Would I go back? With so much choice in this city, probably not.
