Great for take out on rolls. Fish is fresh and they do brown rice sushi. Even for a basic sushi roll combo – $15 is pricey. Customer service is consistently rushed, unrelaxed and unfriendly. I can see how the management is hovering over its staff like a whip ready to be lashed. I would go more often but I am always put off by the consistent negative interactions. Advice: never put down a customer when ordering. Clarify the order and move on…
This is my go to for Take out. It’s reliable, clean, and fresh every time. It’s a little pricy but worth it. Their special rolls and spicy tuna are amazing!
I wish it was even closer to my apartment. Every single roll has a unique and amazing flavor unlike so many other bland sushi spots around Vancouver. Sushi Maro has made it difficult to eat at lesser sushi restaurants including the 3 on the block where I live. I can’t believe the reviews aren’t better?! I eat there once every two to three weeks and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and engage quality conversation, especially when they get to know you. If you love sushi you should check it out for yourself. Enjoy!
My go-to for lunch time sushi cravings. Happy Hour prices on select rolls from 2-5 daily. Consistently good, prices are okay, not a bargain but never feel ripped off. Friendly staff.
Reviews seem a bit too scathing in my opinion. Personally, I find this place pricey since the renovation but the food is good and takeout is fast and reliable. Their Tuna Tataki Roll is pretty much all I order since I absolutely love it and their dons are good. I didn’t dig their Chicken Karage when I tried it a while back.
Unrefined service, friendly, but definitely not Japanese. If you don’t mind eating in a Japanese restaurant that is not Japanese, ok. The food is not expensive, you do get what you paid for. I like their crispy chicken though.
The prices don’t match the menu online. Fine. It says in small print they can change without prior notice. (It’s still not good customer service for a dish to be 33%/$3 more then what it says online)But Here’s my real complaint. I ordered the seafood tempura (prawns, crab, salmon, etc.). I expected fluffy tempura on pieces of crab, SHELLED prawns, etc. What I got? Fully shelled prawns WITH EYES covered in a sparse tempura. The crab also had shell and claws. It was edible… but is it something I would willingly pay for? (let alone $12) nope. Did I eat the creepy little heads with the eyes? Nope. What an absolutely awful experience to have. This is my first and last time ordering from that Restaurant…
