Love the space at this bar polished surfaces, cool lighting, a high ceiling and bartenders in very tight white dress shirts and vests. I did think it an odd juxtaposition that they were playing clips of camp old films on screens, which is basically what they do at a lot of gay bars. We had an old-fashioned and a 12-year-old Macallan each. Very expensive ($80 for the four drinks, and since the old-fashioned were $13 each, that means the scotch was over $20 each) but hey, sometimes you just got to live. andyquan.com
We were in the neighbourhood and decided to drop in on a Saturday morning to try the $10 brunch. The heated outside patio looked quite full so we sat indoors at the long communal table that seats 30 people. We had a direct sightline of the line cooks in the kitchen and they looked busy but dishes were coming out quickly and efficiently. We ordered the Veggie Hash with roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli rabe, two eggs and herb potatoes. I opted for eggs to be poached and they were cooked perfectly and the roasted flavours blended nicely. The Gorgonzola Omelet with arugula and fresh tomatoes was also flavourful with the sharp Italian blue cheese. The dishes werent huge in portion size but reasonable for the price point. A good deal for a weekend bunch, especially in the heart of Yaletown. Would like to come back and try their $10 Sunday Pasta.
Pretty average experience definitely liked our meal the salmon was cooked perfectly and the pasta was delightful Id recommend for a good place to take ur date or relax in the moment
The server Pia was not the type of server I expected this type of restaurant will have. At first she was very nice and attentive to us. Then she started to be very annoying. She suddenly took our plates withoit asking us if its ok. Then when we asked for our bill we told her to give us some time to figure out our payment cause we came in a group. Instead of giving us space she just stood there and impatiently gave us suggestions instead of respecting the space we asked her. She was so annoying and made iur whole experience unpleasant. Before we left, i asked the staff what was her name, nobody knows her. What type of restaurant is this when nonody knows the staff they work with? The only person who knows her is the girl who was working with her its so ridiculous. Please make sure to treat your customers with utnist respect and make sure servers font act like that as if we are going to run away without paying at all.
They have very good drinks. I love the Beatty St Breeze. It’s a fruity cocktail. French 75 and Mojitos are good choices. The chicken penne was too salty. The pork cheeks are really good, but again salty and I can’t have too much since it’s so fatty. The half chicken grilled under the brick was very tender and juicy. Really want to try the brunch here.
Brunch till 3pm Friday – Sunday. Came on Friday and was hoping to try their mains however they aren’t available till 5pm. Had the parmigiana chicken sandwich. It was Ok. Great value. Service was Ok.
