Once you get past the inpossible to read menu everything is fantastic haha. Service especially accomodating. She decanted our wine even though it was one of the cheapest on menu. It’s the little things. Food delicious. Awesome vibe.
We went there for happy hour, cocktails for $12! And seriously it was a little bit of cocktail glass that I did not even like to finish it at all! Fresh and beautiful oysters though. Very nice and friendly staff and so comfy couch:) I will go back there for happy hour but definitely I will just go for beer and oysters.

Uva. +Great drinks +& nosh+ atmosphere+& comfort-1 for the service=4 stars
This may be a wine bar but the bartenders were highly skilled with inventive mixed drinks. These guys are good really good. Well done all around. Good food, drinks and service. A lively crowd to boot.
I Think it Moved: The Best Gnocci I’ve Ever Tasted. I’ve been out for italian food hundreds of time – pasta with a sauce, a cheese and a protein with great wine. Always satisfying but rarely amazing. Dining at Uva is one of the greatest food and drink experiences I’ve had in Vancouver. The first time I stumbled in was on a typical Sunday Funday afternoon. We were just passing by and stopped in at the bar to filter through the wine list. The bartender could see that we weren’t familiar with almost anything on the list so she came over and struck up a conversation, asking us about what our likes and dislikes were, talked about some of our favorite grapes and other wine-related chat.A few minutes later, the three of us were presented with three flights of wines, complete with meat and cheese pairings, each expertly prepared. From beginning to end, that day was amazing – and the one thing we still talk about is the incredible service and wine that we had at Uva.Fast forward a year. I’ve been back for a glass several times, but never tried the food. I saw a tweet that said that they offered the full Cibo menu at the Uva bar, so I wandered back to give it a shot.I tried the same approach with food that had worked so well with wine: chat about what I love with the bartender and let the expert prepare my order. The result was a cascade of blood-flow-inducing food that transitioned from crispy, gooey Rissotto balls, to fluffy pan focaccia, and the best gnocci that I’ve ever tasted. As incredible as the food was, the experience of an articulated four course italian meal in a laid back, social atmosphere was was really got me fired up. I can’t believe that I haven’t even gotten a chance to pump the cocktails’ tires: They’re ridiculous. The list is in the top 4 in the city, and the improvisation and creativity of the bartenders to requests is the best I’ve seen.I will definitely be back – I’m thinking the Grappa cured salmon next time. Get after it.
