This morning my wife told me that a co worker of hers mentioned a few decent places to try so being a beautiful sunny day I chose BBQ as being appropriate. Upon walking through the door it feels comfortable with walls decorated with local art and a lot of natural lighting from two skylights. I ordered the Clint Eastwood burger and my wife ordered the Five Cheese burger. I was very happy with my meal, it tasted great with Bacon, BBQ sauce, sauted onions, and a slice of sauted red pepper. They had standard options for sides and I went with fries which were perfectly seasoned with milled sea salt. There was one server who was also greeting and running the bar, but she did a great job of taking care of the two couples already there as well as us. She was pleasant, relaxed, smiling the whole time, and very knowledgeable regarding their menu items and options. A return visit this summer is a must.
There is no option to give 1/2 stars anymore. I would give a 3.5 vs. a 3. This place was mentioned to me by a co-worker as I wanted to try something different then my default go to places. I ordered the 5 cheese burger. It was flavourful, however, atleast one side of the patty was burned almost consistently from edge ro edge with the taste of burnt food to follow. The patty appeared to be made in house. The husband ordered the Clint Eastwood burger. He loved the burger. He liked the idea of sauted onions and peppers vs. having a tomato on the burger. The textures worked well and the bbq sauce was good too. The service was hit and miss. The frise had a dash of sea salt on them and tasty. There was only one person in the front doing everything (greeter, seater, server, bartender, waitress, bus girl). She did everything and with people coming and going, it made it hard to effectively multi task with just her running the show. I will try them again to see if they can redeem themselves.
Very impressed with first visit. Great staff, very good selection of BC craft beers and the food was very good both the appetizers and mains. Nice bar area, would be a great spot to watch a game. Hope this place does well.
Good service We had the dinner for 2 meat sampler with two side dishes. The meal was more than enough for two. The only negatives were very cold dinner plates that should have been used for salads and the meal itself was just warm including the side dishes.
first time coming here. heard about it a couple months ago and was looking forward to trying a new bbq joint. nice place with lots of craft beer selections. was in a bit of a hurry and was running solo so i didn’t get to explore the menu but it looks good with great looking appies. i had the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. the mac and cheese might have been the best i ever had outside of my mom’s. awesome. the brisket was the opposite. it sucked hard. dry and chewy. nice smoke flavour but it was like eating a jerky sandwich. no other flavours standing out. bun was a little chewy too. waitress didn’t really give a shit. oh well. overall i think the sandwich was a mistake but i will definitely be back to try other stuff
