Review as of May, 2017I was here with my SO for my very first time last night! Boulevard has a nice and cozy setting on the inside. Although it was quite busy at our visit due to mother’s day, the food arrived at a reasonable time and the service was great. We had bread and a house salad to start, followed by back ribs, scalloped potatos and vegetables as entree. The bread was delicious! The garlic butter that was paired with was very good too. In addition, the salad was very fresh and the vinaigrette dressing was nice. The back ribs were alright. We found that the sauce on the ribs was too sweet. The scalloped potatos were closer to mashed than scalloped, which was disappointing. They were alright, you can tell that an excessive amount of heavy cream was used so it was quite greasy. We were given a homemade mint fudge at the end of the night. That was delicious! Overall, we were very pleased with the experience. The food was alright but it was great for what you’re paying for. We would definitely come back again to try out different items on the menu.Review as of March 26, 2018Since my last review, I have been here a number of times in the past year for both brunch and entre.I personally prefer the menu selection for brunch over entre. For brunch, I would highly recommend the Seafood Melt or the Blvd Burger. The Seafood Melt is an open faced sandwich with prawns, scallops, crab and lobster on a grilled pretzel bun! The Blvd Burger is a 6oz housemade patty, topped with a fried egg, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, onion rings, caramelized onions, greens and tomatoes. They both are excellent. If you’re looking for a girls night out on a Monday, I would recommend checking this place out for their $5 Margaritas specials. I wouldn’t recommend getting the Sangria though as I had had it once but wasn’t a fan of it.Overall, I found that the food at Blvd Bistro is as expected for its price. Some of the items were beyond expectation and some were below. I would come back again simply of its cozy and warm environment and its consistent service.
Been here a couple times for drinks and some food. We enjoy the comfy setting and couches. Drinks are pretty overpriced compared to other places. Service has always been good. The vegan burger was surprisingly very good, freshly-made tasting patty and piled high with toppings. Fish tacos were also a hit. This last visit we had pickerel cheeks appetizer and one hot gobbler turkey sandwich (just a snack for the Hitters). Hot gobbler is an open faced hot turkey with rosemary aioli and a hint of cranberry stuffing and gravy. Tasty, a bit sweet and salty but a rather small portion. Side salad, as we knew from previous visits is very boring. A couple carrot ribbons, cucumbers and lettuce. Maybe stick to fries if that’s your thing. Pickerel cheeks were very good and the seasoning complimented them perfectly. Total was over $60 with tip for one sandwich, one appetizer and 4 Bud Lights. We were also surprised to find that the bar side of the establishment allowed in young children but it seems that’s becoming pretty standard in the city these days. The menu is quite large and fairly interesting looking especially the nachos, which we may have to return for.
four of us wanted to try a new restaurant and Boulevard won our try; i was glad i called to make reservations because even though it was a Monday night its also the Christmas season and they were full. the restaurant is very cozy and we all commented on the unique light fixtures above the tables. we woudl all say everyone was very friendly and for being a very busy evening there were no delays on food service; drink service did lack as our table water did run low frequently. we ordered the mac & cheese bites asap as we were all so hungry and they came out super quickly. we were all curious about the description and the dish is unique BUT tasty! we debated how they made the tiny deep fried squares on mac & cheese and were curious about the addition of lettuce at the bottom of the bowl. the 4 of us ladies shared them and it was a great portioned tasty starter. i think we are all familiar with ketchup and Mac & Cheese but they paired it with sweet chili which just made it taste so much more grown up. i was very hesitant to have the ribs as my friend is a pit master but i was brave and the fact the chef veggie choice was brussels sprouts & zucchini won me over on a non-pasta main. i should really check my bill because i ordered the half rack and if that is actually what i received i would say they are VERY generous on their portions. i would have liked my rib sauce a bit spicy but that’s my personal preference.Cajun chicken pasta, Linguini Carbonara and Seafood Primavera were also ordered by the diners. All the ladies took home leftovers as portions are substantial. We all received starter salads as we all ordered mains and they come with a lovely citrus sweet dressing and they don’t pre-dress the salad, which i appreciate. the end of the meal is capped with their in house made fudge, we enjoyed a Christmas flavor.they pay attention to details in their food and its a warm environment.
I’ve been here twice now and both times the food and drinks were excellent. My first experience was on the patio where my husband and I got boulevard (potato) skins to start (incredible) and I had a Bellini which was super tasty and a salad which was also really good (can’t recall which salad). My second time was inside in the lounge and I had another Bellini since it was so good the first time (super good this time as well!) and gluten free chicken fingers and fries! I’ve never seen gluten free chicken fingers on a menu before so I had to get them since I’m wheat free and haven’t had chicken fingers in probably 5 years nowholy crap were they awesome! Crispy breading and so much flavour! Probably the best chicken fingers I’ve had ever. Overall it’s a good atmosphere and has some really unique food options.
Lunch today was ok. My seafood melt was cold, but my sister’s was hot. I sent mine back and they took it off the bill without being asked. My husband’s burger was great. The service was very good and our server was very pleasant. We will give this place another try.
Sangrias on special, fantastic flatbreads and nachos, nice atmosphere, and cute little patio. What more could you ask for? I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.
We went here for lunch one day, and it was decent. Service was average, prices were high.We then went here for dinner shortly after and were extremely disappointed. The service was amateur at best, the food rather mediocre. Prices were a bit high if the food was great, but because it wasn’t the prices were outrageous. We’ll never be back, and as is history for this location, you can expect another business in this spot within a couple years when they go bankrupt.
