As we live in the neighbourhood we have Hit this place up out of convenience a number of times. The coffee selection is good as the desserts are excellent. They also have some very good soups such as the Hungarian mushroom and west African peanut. The sandwiches are pretty weak, we have tried several and as long as you are ok with a high ciabatta bun to actual filling ratio you probably won’t mind them. Mr. Hitter recommends using your mushroom soup as a dip for your sandwich to liven it up. Have tried the salads and they are small portions with not a lot of topping. We only stick with the soup now. Service is ok, but bring your own napkins on the way to your table as they wont bring them for you. Lots of comfy seating and a pretty good vibe but be warned the place is always very hot. In all, a passing grade and worth visiting if you are in the area but don’t make a special trip, if you are planning to eat.
Went for the first time ever and it was in the xmas season. First impression was it was a nice place with great layout, decor and comfy seating. I ordered a large cappuccino and it came in this HUGE ceramic cup for under $5. I added my fixins and settled down to converse. I soon realized it didn’t have much espresso flavour though I was deep in conversation. When I got a chance I got up and restirred it but it made no difference – I was drinking what can be best described as a past its prime bowl of frothed milk. The person I was with had the same thought with her milk freshness of her drink. I left after drinking about 1/8 – and I’m a coffee fiend! As nice as the place was, it all comes down to the coffee. Pass.
I come here every once in awhile because it’s in the neighborhood. Their Hungarian mushroom soup is soooo good. I’ve also tried the Greek salad and the ham and turkey sandwich which were both good. I’m not a coffee person but I tried a smoothie and it was good. I don’t really like the inside of the location but I can see it would be good for people who like that coffee shop vibe and for meetings and studying etc. The owner is really nice and most of the staff is except some of the teenage girl workers. My only other complaint is the menus are handwritten in chalk and somewhat hard to read, and the curved windows were broken when we came in last.
Good food… Service not great. I’ve been coming to this place for awhile now. When ordering food remember to get napkins before sitting down and don’t make a suggestion that they bring napkins to the table when bringing food.. They will give you a dirty look and ignore you.
Consistently great. Have been there three times now. customer service, food and drinks are perfect. the food is fresh and tasty, the staff is very friendly and we love the pumpkin scones. the turkey club sandwich and the Greek salad with hot chocolate is to die for and is personally my favorite combo… as well as my only combo.
They advertise the milkshake in a glass cup but came in a plastic container. Sit down places shouldn’t use plastic.
Finally stopped in today for lunch after driving by forever. Sandwiches were fantastic and the salad was great. Coffee was huge and the service was good.We will be back.
