Panda is by far the best take-out Chinese we’ve had in Winnipeg. Been going there for decades. Everything they make us is wonderfully fresh, consistently high quality, and quite reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.Yes, their wait times are painful. We never get it delivered, and try to order mid-week to avoid long waits. If anyone knows of a Chinese restaurant in St. Vital of this caliber, please let us know in the comments, because we’ve tried all the popular ones, and none come even close.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!We called at 5 pm to order a meal for our family. They said they were busy it would be about an hour and 10 minutes and the same for pick up but we decided to wait for delivery. An hour and 45 minutes later we called to follow up on our order and after being on hold for another 5 minutes the gentleman said they were a bit behind and they are still working on our order. AN HOUR AND 45 MINUTES AND THE ORDER WASN’T EVEN ON THE WAY!!! Now imagine I went to pick it up and then had to wait another 45 minutes after I got to the restaurant. So unless you want to wait 2 hours for an order, order elsewhere. As first and last time customers I feel this review will help those looking for a good Chineese food restaurant in Charleswood that also has some sense of what service is about. CALL SOMEWHERE ELSE
Honestly, Winnipeg doesn’t really have a great Chinese restaurant.Panda can be decent. When it comes hot is when it is best. The chicken balls, 5 spice shrimp, and Kung pao chicken are good options. They like their msg, but you actually need msg to keep stir fried veggies crisp and it’s not like you order this on a daily basis. Service is always good so that is a plus.When you order the chicken balls, tell your kids that they’re actually chickens balls… After they’ve eaten the whole order… hahaha
We have always been treated well, one of our favorite little places. The ginger beef is the best I have had yet here in the peg!
Food from floor to take out box!. Just picked up an order from panda and as I was waiting for my order, I looked through the window and saw a women pick up a chicken ball from the floor and packed it.I didn’t order the chicken balls thank goodness but now I’m worried if any of my food has touched the ground at any point .Their food is good but if this is how they handle food that has fell on the floor, it is disgusting. I will be making a report tomorrow to food and safety because this is definitely dirty and disgusting!
Good food and friendly employess. First time coming here yesterday and i can say that they have really nice and friendly staff. i asked them to recommend 5 different dishes for me and the guy helping me recommended trying the five spice squid, breaded shrimp, kung pao chicken , five spice ribs and the shanghai noodles. all the dishes were really good and i especially loved the squid and chicken they were delicious!!! i also ordered beef fried rice which i really loved. they werent cheap on the beef and had a lot in there. all in all i got my moneys worth and would recomend the dishes i had!!
First & Last time for Panda – Never again – even thrw out the leftovers. Tried out Panda on Roblin for Chinese food last night. Never again. We ordered for takeout. the lemon chicken was far to much breading and very doughy, the lemon sauce was tasteless and greasy. The ginger beef was boring, no ginger taste, it was listed as being spicy and it was not. the only good thing to say was that it was meat and not gristle. But never again. Hubby tried the leftovers for lunch the next day – threw them out they were even worse
