I echo the statements regarding horrible service. The waitress, who is also the owner, was rude, slow, and mean to my kids. It was such an unpleasant experience. The food was oily and greasy. I live in Charleswood, but I will never be going back.
Horrible service , mediocre food. When we feel like going to a Greek restaurant we usually go to Tuxedo Village where the food and service is always excellent but thought we would try somewhere new for a change. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Upon arrival we were greeted by the most miserable of women who acted like she was insulted that we came in to her restaurant. Perhaps it was our two year old son she was not keen on or maybe she just didn’t like the look if us for some reason. She didn’t crack a smile once. Was pretty rude when we had the nerve to ask if there was a children’s menu. The food came and it was average and did not compare well with Tuxedo Village. We won’t make that mistake again and will not be returning to Pappas ever again.
Supper at pappas. Ordered the LAMB gyros….not sure what the mystery meat was, likely the pressed donair stuff from the deli in Sobeys, but it wasn’t what we were expecting i thnk they need to go back to Greece and learn how to cook again…even the tzatziki was more like straight yoghurt i’m sure they are wondering why they aren’t busy and if they aren’t maybe they should!
Greek Salad. Spanakopita, rice, greek salad
Went here for supper and the food was fantastic. I had the Greek ribs and my friend had the special. Both were delicious.
I would have to say this is the best Greek food I’ve had in Winnipeg. I had the Greek seasoned baby back ribs with lemon potatoes (yum) and Greek salad. Amazing dressing that is available for sale 🙂 the prices are reasonable and food was out quick. Salad out within 5 minutes with garlic toast. Definitely going to go again and/or get their take-out
Decided to stop in on a Friday night. The food was okay, and yes,the place was decorated in such a way as to demand comfort,,however the service was slow; very slow. I ended up feeling like an outsider because I certainly got the impression that were many regulars there. I got jealous because these customers received the smiles and table visits. Seriously at one point I got a ”yeah, okay’ as the waitress walked away. Although I did use my manners,I can’t say the same for the waitress; not one ‘you’re welcome’ all night. We even had to wait to pay the bill because apparently mixing drinks is more important. Won’t be trying this place again on my own as there as are just too many good restaurants out there to go to a place and pay to be ignored!
