Worth it for the view, mediocre food. Frozen fries, frozen, processed burger patties, all over priced, but polar bears literally press their noses to the glass next to you while you eat, so why not? Free fountain drink refills are handy if youve been running all over the zoo. Conveniently connected to an excellent indoor kids playground where meal order numbers are announced over a PA system so kiddos can climb and play while waiting.
Forget the food. Where else can you eat where there are bear paw prints on the window and polar bears laying right in front of you. We got to see one repeatedly walk up and then roll down the hill!
Great for what it is! Clean, great service and tasty food. It’s a lot like the IKEA cafeteria. Stopped in for a slice of pizza, which was decent. The menu is pretty basic: pizza, burgers, french fries, chicken fingers as well as ice cream. There is also a small gift shop island near the entrance. I like that the windows face the polar bear enclosure. We were lucky to see two of the bears walking around while we ate. Great for kids! Reminded me of Animal Kingdom in Disney World, on a much smaller scale of course.
It a reasonably priced and good food for a quick grill. My kids always like it!
It’s a CAFETERIA!. As long as you go in with cafeteria expectations, I suppose you won’t be disappointed. I expected more from the ‘new & improved’ zoo… and with a name like Tundra Grill, I expected better quality (and hopefully fresh) food.Plastic carton packaged salads or fruit bowls for $5+ out of the cooler. Breakfast was as pre-fabricated as it could be – hashbrowns were pre-made (likely frozen) cubes, scrambled eggs were partially scrambled, and the toast was only toasted on one side. It was all served (not really – they just call your number for you to come pick it up) on a paper plate.Overall, this place was a big disappointment.
Inside the Zoo — Admission Fee Required.. Just a heads up that Tundra Grill is located inside the Winnipeg Zoo at Assiniboine Park. The Zoo charges an admission fee which needs to be paid in order to access the restaurant according to the park website.
