As it was hot out, I decided to order a Bubble tea to go. I know great bubble tea and like to find places that offer it. Since this place was close to work, I decided to try it. First, for a Medium sized bubble tea, I paid way too much at $4.99 tip (Came out to $5.19). (I pay $6.83 for a Large at Panda Tea where they specialise in Bubble tea) I realised I should not have included the tip as the bubbles were hard, discolored and stale, but the woman who made it was veryquickin making it. If this is a preview of their food, I refuse to go back.
There aren’t a lot of restaurants near HSC hospital but this at the corner of William and Sherbrook is pretty decent for Thai food. Their spice level is serious so if you choose 7 or higher it is spicy! I had 8 once and it was pretty spicy – the kind that’s still good but you’re getting a runny nose and drinking lots of water and I have a decent heat tolerance. I’ll go with 6 and it’s just right. There’s a lunch time buffet but it doesn’t appeal to me so I usually share a few dishes with friends. The green curry, red curry, panang curry and pad thai are all decent. They all average about $10 per dish when you select chicken or beef.Service is fast and efficient.
I’ve been here quite a few times and tried a few of their curry. Their portion size is smaller than a typical restaurant, which doesn’t bother me at all. The owner is really sweet and friendly.I give them only a 3 and I don’t know if I’m just imagining things or not, but I think their food contains a little too much MSG? I’m really sensitive to the taste of MSG, so I get a bit of headache when I eat their food. They do taste really good, it’s just that I can’t have a lot before feeling like I might get sick.
Great food!. This place is great if you want Thai food that feels homemade! I don’t remember their curries to be particularly too spicy, but I’m sure you can get it as spicy as you’d like.
Definitely would not go back to have the lunch buffet again. The food tasted old and hard. Went during a lunch break. Maybe the food on the menu is good, but don’t waste your money on the buffet for sure.
Great lunch combos. I enjoy going here for lunch as it is close to my workplace. Small restaurant but the food is fantastic.
Best Thai curries that I’ve tried in Winnipeg. Service is quick and friendly. Definitely one of my fave places to eat!
