I always order the Takoyaki, I find it to be the best in the whole city …I randomly order sushi rolls whenever im in the area but tonight I ordered the watta roll and oh my goodness I fell in love with this roll, all the flavours exploded together just right!!I’ll be sure to share this experience with many of my sushi loving friends, staff is always nice to me <3
Usually order work lunches from here to pick up as we’ve found ordering through Skip the Dishes unreliable for times. Decent sushi for the price. Some rolls are too big and end up falling apart on you. Favourite rolls are Red Dragon, Pacific, Watta and the salmon combo is the perfect size for lunch.
I ordered from here a few days ago for lunch at work via Skip-The-Dishes. I found the sushi to be too squished in the containers and some of it hard to decipher as to which roll were which. Some of the rolls were very good, but others were not quite hitting the mark. Some rolls fell apart immediately because they either weren’t packed tightly enough, or were sliced too thin to hold together all the ingredients, or lacked basic sauces and flavours inside. I wasn’t overly wowed but it was an acceptable order. The rice was very good though that was on the rolls.
Ordered from them couple of days ago for to go. I love their Takoyaki and the Deluxe California Roll was the bomb! Didn’t know about them before, so thanks to my friend who found them at Skip! Will definitely recommend this place!
I’ve got takeouts from this place a few times now, and I’ve liked it each time. Sometimes pleasantly surprised by the flavored. Besides the flavor, price and presentation are also above my expectations from a takeout place. I would vote it as the best sushi place in Winnipeg. May just be the best sushi I had so far in a couple years, and I’ve visited BC’s sushi restaurants.18 Apr, 2015Chicken Teriyaki Dinner Combo. Also came with miso. Chicken is quite yummy. Worth it.18 Apr, 2015Paradise Roll. Mango, salmon, avocado, and crab meat. One of the best mango rolls I’ve had.18 Apr, 2015Fireworks Roll. Five pieces (albeit quite large size) in one order. Totally recommend!!
So-so sushi. Ordered from Skip The Dishes. Tempura was nice and hot on arrival, rolls were over-sauced, especially the volcano roll (which was delivered with a plastic spoon for good reason) so they fell apart when we tried to eat them. Creamy Shrimp roll was covered in excessive amount of fried garlic. Way too pungent. Might have been nice if there was way, way less garlic. Bakudan was quite good.
Consistently good!. I have ordered take-out from Watta Sushi several times now, and it has never disappointed. The party platters are arranged beautifully and consist of an amazing variety of rolls with fresh ingredients (unlike many other places where the party platters are mainly deep-fried and cheap rolls). The owners are so friendly and my orders have always been ready on time. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality is always on point. Will be returning again and again 🙂
