This place has changed…and it is awesome! They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. The Vietnamese Rice Bowl was excellent! They also have a new system of ordering which is a vast improvement over the previois setup. Kudos to Grace Cafe!
Don’t go to the Grace Cafe for breakfast unless you’re not scheduled to get anywhere until noon or so. I generally get my breakfast to go and wait a minimum of 20 minutes even though I’m the only one standing in line. This morning I watched 2 of the cooks watch eggs cook on the grill. It’s often the 2 younger ones staring at the grill together, chatting and drinking coffee. No one was proactive getting the next orders food prepped or warming on the grill, hash browns weren’t made and neither was the toast. When it came time to deliver food to tables, after the plates had been sitting on the counter for close to 5 minutes, the young guy slowly sauntered his way over to the tables with 2 plates in his hands. No one is in a rush to do anything, including getting your food ready. A woman came out from the back and started to help, but it didn’t seem to move anything along any faster. I asked for my money back as I had been waiting 20 minutes for my food and they hadn’t even started my order yet (eggs, bacon and toast). The young guy was quick to give me my money back and knew exactly how much to give me (I had already poured and drank half a coffee). It would seem they’ve done that a few times before…The food is good when you get it. it’s just having the patience to wait over 30 minutes.
