I stopped here for a quick lunch while visiting someone in the St. Boniface hospital. I was hoping to get something other than fast/cafeteria food. The deli club sandwich was excellent. Bread was fresh and nicely toasted, meat was tasty and piled high, and the small pecan and chocolate chip tart I had on the side was nice. Service was quick too.

I ordered a caesar’s salad for take outand wasn’t as goodasI expected-all soggy andtasted likesoaked carboard.The older lady at the counter was not so friendly. What a waste of money. Won’t recommend this place.

Not only is this place filthy , but money and food were handled with no thought to hygiene . Will never be back , considered myself lucky for not getting food poisoning . This place should be shut down .

WAY over priced! And really small portions. Went 2 times and never like it any better.
I’ve been a customer at pastrami and things for 22 years. Cecile and Tracy along with their staff never cease to amaze me with their new take on salads and home made soups! The Caesar salad is to die for! If you’re in the area, it’s a great place to grab a coffee and sandwich… pastrami/cornbeef on rye! A classic deli fave 😉
Not running back. For some reason I thought this place would be like a real deli…maybe not to the level of Schwartz’s in Montreal but something close to that. No, this place is more like a home style cafeteria. Like literally, if you opened up your kitchen and made sandwiches to order. The staff are really nice and they are trying so you gotta give them credit for that.You line up and make your order, pay and pick up your order all in one go at the counter. The food ranges from your basic sandwiches like reubens, turkey etc for $6.95. They also serve up veggie lasagna, hot dog, salads, and soups.The sandwiches are pretty blah – my turkey club didn’t have any bacon (I am pretty sure they missed that unless they replaced it with ham but I am sure I didn’t taste that either). The turkey is like the same Maple Leaf stuff you’d get at Safeway or Sobeys. The best parts of the sandwich is the bread (the multigrain was delicious) and the fresh veggies and real cheddar cheese. There is a good portion of deli meat in the sandwich but it feels pricey at $6.95 to get a small sandwich with nothing else – no pickle or small coleslaw.Chicken fingers were a little under $6 after tax – it was microwaved and you only receive two small chicken fingers and nothing else! Very expensive and disappointing.This tends to use a microwave to heat up most things as I didn’t’ see an oven. Most things are refrigerated and heated via a microwave as I didn’t see an oven. I suggest that if you have to go here, order sandwiches (made to order), salad and the soups which are in a slow cooker.
